@iloveglitterpolish the best way to tell if you can do this is if you put your hair in a high ponytail, wrap your hand around the base of the pony tail making a fist and see if your hair will cover up your first. Like mentioned in one of the comments, if you don't want to invest in the mesh chignon (it cost $3.69) you can get an old sock that is close to your hair color, cut a hole in the tip and roll it up into a doughnut shape and test it out :)

you can make a Chignon by cutting the tip of your sock (the toe end) so there are holes in both ends and then roll your sock into a doughnut shaped just like a Chignon.
