Why doesn't toss make a couple cannons on the high ground next to their wall? Not a SC player, just curious.
@charlescook55426 ай бұрын
They have to prioritize making wall to stop lings. Making cannons on the side won’t help much against hydra bust and every extra cannon you make that you don’t need delays your templars which means zerg lurker contain is even stronger.

@Winnetou177 ай бұрын
It stands for Korean e-Sports Association. In this context it's meant to identify a period, though I'm not sure of the exact date, but I think it's most likely the pre SC2 era. Like 2007-2008 and earlier. Those were the times!

You can't just sit there, because ZERG goes in an arch. Needed to make zealots at the start and just use them. Have 2 dragoons & a shuttle with another reaver shuttle at the back maybe and just hit overlords. BASE/BASIC defence with just units and cannons just puts too much pressure on a Protoss, and so you need to force a Zerg's play to get messy otherwise somehow he can drone, make units & kill your units, probes & defences whilst taking no damage at home. It's like playing Spanish & being able to fast Castle - Conquistadours, in AoE II.

Terran is the comeback king. They can be crazy behind then win on 2 base 40 minutes into game
@tacticalchunder12077 ай бұрын
Except it wasn’t a solid comeback? He was doomed after it.
@Raz0rIG7 ай бұрын
Protoss didn't make a comeback, Zerg doing an aggressive strategy should've put him behind in the first place, so the fact that zerg was still ahead when the rush didn't kill protoss should say something about the risk/reward ratio of zvp. Zerg has all the opportunities to win but no risk to lose if 3 hatch hydra fails. Because you can force probes to defend and whittle protoss' eco negating any advantage they normally should have when going for an aggro strat that fails.
@hilmsay41347 ай бұрын
@@Raz0rIG no risk to lose if 3 hatch hydra doesn’t work!?? You don’t play the game bro.
@Raz0rIG7 ай бұрын
@@hilmsay4134 I do play the game but your argument from authority has no weight on whether my reasoning is true or not. By your lack of judgment on this game , it seems like you don't know who was really winning. Zerg has the initiative early game until protoss has a sizeable army with storm. So if zerg goes 3 hatch hydra, protoss can't punish zerg until a long time, because cannons are an opportunity cost instead of gateways, By the time 5-6 gateways warp in to mass up the army, zerg can easily drone up and recover economically. The main ways protoss win is by forcing zerg to make a mistake. This isn't back in kespa days where pros didn't know how to optimize droning cycles to macro back into the game from a failed 3 hatch hydra. Games are much more mapped out that even failed cheeses or aggressive openings don't mean you auto-lose. You have a follow up game plan from that strategy. Which is why we see variations of protoss doing a cannon rush, and even if it fails the game can still resume normally, or in other match ups. TvZ, a failed bunker rush doesn't mean auto-loss for the terran. The game is much more mapped out since Kespa.

what a big surprise... zerg bash hydra button and wins
@Winnetou177 ай бұрын
What an insightless comment. Do you play or favor protoss, by any chance ?
@Raz0rIG7 ай бұрын
@@Winnetou17 Comment is true though. Just look at the stats, the ZvP games winrates are much higher during the early game until protoss can establish in the mid-very late game. The reasons why protoss lose in the earlymid game is hydra bust, how often do we see muta related losses vs hydra bust? From this evidence you can conclude that from a game theory perspective is it is optimal to do 3 hatch hydra blind vs where the opp reads you're doing it again. Zerg has all the opportunity of winning outright if it works, and no risk if it fails. Zerg can force protoss to sacrifice their eco advantage and have a few drone cycles and recover economically back into the game with not much downside to them relative to protoss's situation. If Zerg loses in a game where they did 3 hatch hydra, I guarantee you it's not because they the 3 hatch hydra didn't win them the game, most of the time, it's because they failed to adapt propertly and transition into the late game or made bad trades.
@Winnetou177 ай бұрын
@@Raz0rIG I could say that in this game, the protoss simply lost it, those lurker drops were what won the game, not the hydra bust. Hence my comment above. And the protoss had all the tools to not be affected by the drop, or at least limit the damage, not lose 30 probes.
