Yeah, I feel the exact same way. The effect just sounds odly soothing. I find I also get the same feeling when listening to "Fredsvoice ASMR" when he does the walkie-talkie effect.

Being technical here but this definitely could happen! A tape from 1995 could always have an HD version of it (audio wise not so much in video). Stuff from around that time were normally recorded in full quality before compression so it existing as being archived on a random server is always possible. Starfox 64 was a big example of this.

Also recordings on film do not really have a limit in resolution which is why some olds films can be streamed in 4k
