@@septemms5576 Actually, the og recipe seems to come from the Roman Empire, placenta, if i recall correctly (not to be confused with the organic material that covers a fetus during birth). The turkish cuisine its built as a mixture of both Middle-Eastern and Byzantium cuisine (or the East roman Empire, for a more appropiate reference). Side note: also, there was apparently an asirian and mesopotamian recipe that resembled Baklava around the VII B.C century.

@@evrafatima6191 really sweet and crunchy, but soft at the same time. It differs from flavor to flavor tho. My favourite types are pistachio baklava and galaktoboureko. It's soooo good. Highly recommend trying it out.

Its all Arabic names, except bakalva is turkish, nothing is greek.

Kadayeif in Arabic comes from kadav which means picked. So kadaiyev means the picked ones. It doesnt matter for us Arab if Arabic food was mixed with turkish bcz we consider them our brothers, since we all muslims are one, but greek has nothing to do with Arabic/Turkish food.

İki kültür yıllarca beraber yaşamış ve yemek kültürlerinin benzer olması da şaşırtıcı değil. Zaten gördüğüm kadarıyla türk baklavası ile yunan baklavasının arasında pekte benzer yanlar yok gibi. Sadece demek istediğim: baklavanın türk kültürüne ait olduğu tescillenmiş bir şey ama tatlının kültür birleşmesinden dolayı yunan versiyonu da var. karışık anlattım ama umarım açıklayıcı olmuştur :)

Very popular desert here but I tried a small piece once and it gave me a headache because it was extremely sweet, a bit too sweet for me; but I will definitely buy some again and try them properly. Heyy! I have to say something, you should definitely eat baklavas - specially ''kadayıf''- with Tahina (sesame) . Put some tahina on top, you'll love it! (btw that's correct, it is Laz Böreği :))
