Was a guild leader on Twisting Nether when it first came out and had over 1000+ people in the guild. (Onslaught was the guild name) In order to do a online head count I had to do /who of individual class and races per area. After a few months Blizzard decided to patch in a cap, but before that point, the numbers just stopped counting at 500, even though you could still recruit. Anywho, the drama was unbearable and I was 13, so after about a month or so of raiding the Alliance towns non stop I ended up just stop getting on WoW. Imagine World Chat, but that was guild chat. The officers of the guild reformed to become the number one raiding guild while the rest of the horde split up into different guilds. How I was able to accomplish this is that I was one of the very first people to log on the server when it was launched, I immediately gathered 10 silver, got the charter, and spammed it at anyone I could find. Then I began /who inviting EVERYONE on the server, and being 2005 (or 06, I forget), alot of people accepted it because Zerg guilds weren't a thing yet. After I had a decent chunk of people, I gave everyone inviting powers and told them to invite anyone who wasn't in a guild. Once a large portion of us were level 5-15, we got 2 raids together and stormed the Gurubashi Arena, looting the chest and vending the items inside to get enough gold to make the first tabard, repeating this process about 10 times until we had gotten about 50 tabards for different people. Once people heard we had a tabard, everybody wanted to join us without much effort on our part. The rest was history from there. Character's name was Grog on Twisting Nether. He is still level 47-49 and has a Stone Guard rank.

What I do about BoEs: I write immediately in chat "all need", and then I press need. If I'm a good person I'll roll it out to an actual need afterwards, but this is how you need to do it to protect your team. You ninja the item so that no one else will ninja the item, and then you can roll it out and only allow people who actually needs it to roll.

From being a guild leader and guild officer during original wow,this is why many did bow out must of the time and or traded off days with officers because of the drama and people not willing to understand their own actions and or not caring.I was a liked officer and leader but hated by the few too because I didnt tolerate the crap. So them changing looting after original really helped with this.Yes it helped so many of you all who hailed all of classic,there is many little reason a portion of us are glad it changed.We loved lots of other little parts some of the main values like loot and what not that must people only cared for were revamped.

Everyone knows you always need on BoE's. If the guy who "actually" needs it wants it so bad, he can go buy it from the auction house. If you ninja loot a chest full of BoP's, even if you only take things that you need, that's a different story. It makes for funny content but it's not acceptable looting behavior. But, when an item can be bought or sold on the auction house, it should be treated like gold when it drops in a dungeon. Everyone can use gold; it's not exclusive to any one class. If 5 people work together to kill a boss (or mob or whatever) and that boss drops what is essentially gold that can only be looted by one person, you don't just give it away to a specific individual, since he didn't earn it more than anyone else did. If it's a super duper rare BoE, then the guy who wants it can buy it off you if you win it lol

If everyone follows the rule of not rolling until everyone else rolls, roll timers expire. Just have the tank as master looter. They're the ones taking the hits and durability loss, they're the ones that (should) call the shots, they're the whole reason you are in an instance (unless you are a group of mages, and then everyone is usually rolling on the same shit, and everyone should just be needing on everything to prevent ninja looting).

So here's the thing about the presidency, right, is that the most qualified politicians don't run to be the president because the position is inherently stressful. Asmon's essentially a mediating governor/president for half the server population for Alliance. Even with guild leaders to mitigate drama so he doesn't have to deal with it all himself, the individual problems are still elevated to his attention because the "victims", however you decide to define that before and/or after the full issue is explored, can just directly mail him in the game. His guild leaders' way of handling things can just be vetoed or reviewed because the "victims" go straight to him about it. I honestly wonder if and how Asmon's going to be able to maintain this, or if the other Olympus guilds will die or secede. I feel like this is going to become an interesting political model, whether it's just an MMO game or not. (After all, epidemiologists studied the Corrupted Blood Incident. Art reflects life, lads.) It's just petty ninja looting, name calling, and a barrel of bad apples misrepresenting the guild(s) right now with terrible attitudes, but there's going to be that one day or that one guy or that one group that absolutely sends it tits up and I don't think it'll be Asmon that would be the cause of it. I'm now fully invested into seeing what comes out of the daily pettiness just to see where it leads and how it's dealt with.
