Has the team thought about doing a MMORPG? That would explode. Being able to level through Hogwarts by going to wizard classes and learning to fly, and dungeons could be final exams and bigger things happening in the world… pvp could be quidditch or duels, elite players could be the World Cup. Exactly the character is brilliant even from the first book I just assumed he was evil based on his body language and cold personality without spoiling too much it’s actually not the case his backstory and motives are so strong you don’t expect what is revealed later

That is not actually correct, they stopped being friends because he started to get into dark arts. And come on, the fact that he asked Dumbledore to spare only her and not Harry just showcases what an asshole he was. I like Snape as a character because he is flawed. Yes, he did good in the end but that doesn't erase the fact he was horrible to kids. Also, I hate the fact how the movie twisted some things, like him cradling Lily's dead body. That didn't happen, I swear I heard someone in the cinema asking "wait, is Snape Harry's dad?" They shouldn't have increased the romance aspect.

I couldn't disagree more. The entire series I didn't question Snape having evil motives at any point, it seemed obvious that he was. Then come the end of the series they just turned it on it's head to shoot for subversion of expectation, but because of his actions up until then it really didn't matter.

It's pretty clear Snape wasn't Dumbledore's biggest fan. It's pretty clear Snape completely bought into the pure blood ideology. Snape was a piece of shit. He just happened to do a couple good things in his life

@@justinramos4599 That would depend on your likes and dislikes. If you are into action oriented RPGs, then something like diablo 3 is a good way to get into that type of game. If you are not scared by complexity, then Path of Exile is better. If you like RPGs then Skyrim is a great game to try. If you like exploring and building and graphics aren't super important, then Minecraft is a very good game. If you like brain teaser games, then Portal 1 and 2 are excellent. f you like Real Time Strategy, then you need to find someone else to recommend something because that is not my strong suit. If you like shooters, then I'm personally still partial to Counter Strike GO. If you play tabletop games like d&d, then games like Divinity Original Sin is probably a good one... Just be careful of the difficulty.

Just want to relay for the people wondering: the devs has confirmed that the game will have no co-op or online play at all. It is purely meant to be a tripple A singleplayer openworld action RPG, with a focus on you and your story. Which would be impossible if you shared it with other people. You still get to experience meeting awesome new people when arriving at hogwarts though just in the form of dynamic and well written NPC’s that all have their own stories.

I could never be immersed in a multiplayer game and this story and universe is all about immersion. If you want to play an MMO then go do that no one is stopping you. But not EVERYTHING needs to be an MMO. Almost every game has some multiplayer in it today so we desperately need a good singleplayer game. Its also perfect that the devs could focus on the lore, the story, the worldbuilding and everything without having to also use time on complex multiplayer mechanics. Most people ive talked to has agreed, this game would not work as well as a multiplayer game as it does as singleplayer.

While I might be highly sceptical of this project, I think there's still potential. HP is a powerhouse of an intellectual property and there's plenty of money to be made, so a game like this could get properly funded. And since the franchise has so many fans in every walk of life, there's good chance of building a really strong and talented team of developers that are also super passionate about the project.

It would be unlikely for that to happen, in my opinion. The books (and by extension movies at some level) were serialized to their age demographic's increasing reading level as they came out, so it's not a franchise you usually get invested into if you did not grow up with it. I remember trying out the first few books in my late teens and dropping them for being a simple story obviously written to be digestible and relatable for small children (and not in a way adults can still enjoy as something like The Hobbit)

I think one issue is that the Tolkien estate is very…”protective” of all of Tolkien’s intellectual property. Generally they tend to not grant the rights to use his stories’ most well known characters, places and events. I believe Amazon was only allowed to take aspects from the Silmarillion for the show their making. I’d be fine with anything set in middle earth but many fans may not like how many liberties that game devs would likely have to take to make a game transformative enough to appease the estate.

they could make instanced multiplayer modes into the existing game, hub house areas, 1v1 duels, quidditch games, Triwizard Tournament. A MMO is impossible cause it had to be rebuilt but adding instanced multiplayer is possible and relatively easy into an existing game, they can keep developing and adding into the game.

My family were really poor growing up which meant barely seeing parents because they were working all the time to make ends meet. So usually extended family helped raise me and my sister when they had time, but other times, we just stayed home and entertained ourselves. Well, I begged my parents for a PS1 and was happy to make it be my birthday and Christmas present rolled in one. The only game I got for it was Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone because I loved the book. Spending days upon days playing that game has legit become a core memory for me, so seeing this and hearing Asmon echo my excitement and awe made me really tear up. I can’t wait to get into this world. It looks incredible.

They can do what they did on Genshin Impact for co-op play. Genshin; as we all know, is built to be single player, but Hoyoverse formulated it to where we can do side missions(world quests) in co-op mode where at least 3 others can join in to hang out and do them with you without crashing the game or without taking away from the main story and crowding the NPC's that are needed for the main storyline. If they did this then it would be so much cooler than what it already is!

The movies are great, I love them. But I would say their strong points were mainly the cast, the OST, the visuals… The story in all of them (arguably excluding the first two) compared to the books left much to be desired. The books started to get quite longer, and one movie's runtime just wasn't enough. To add to that, even though they split the 7th one in two, you would think this time it would be a much more complete adaptation, coherent and closer to the source, but didn't feel like it at all.

I do wonder how spells will work. Will it be like a contextual combat? As in if you use leviosa spell to lift an enemy, if you press square you will use flippendo and if you press triangle then dissendo or some other spell? It seems like some kind of combo system. Like you can just throw around stupefy spells but usually you need some way to incapacitate opponent by accio, leviosa or petrificus in order to use other spells on them

My only issue is that the combat doesn't really suit the series, like i can't imagine any of the cast in the movies performing dodge rolls and spamming magic spells like how the player in the game is doing it. I wonder if that would take away from the immersion or make it feel like the game is trying to be something it's not.

@@TGPDrunknHick I don't think Snape was loyal to Dumbledore. He listened to Dumbledore because he felt he needed too due to his guilt. Dumbledore essentially tricked him into working for him. However there is never a moment, at least that we see where Snape starts believing in Dumbledore's side. I have always believed had Lilly not, or even had Dumbledore not approached him Snape would have continued to be loyal too Voldemort. It always seemed to me he believed in that cause more than Dumbledore's. While Snape did a few good things in his life and clearly showed some goodness in his guilt for his actions, Snape was a pretty bad person. I think it's easier to argue he was evil than good

See that's the cool thing about growing up with a big 'almost' universally well received thing; it only takes a decade for someone who fell in love with the thing as a teen to grow up and want to make their own take on it- and hopefully the desire to make something worthwhile comes with that. Now sure there's some god awful cringe in the HP fandom... But this looks like it caught the imagination of the folks making it, and if that real love for this world goes into the crafting of this game, and the systems work half as good as this games graphics look, this might be a contender with Elden Ring for GotY. High-Medium Hype, this might be gold.

I think they should really make an MMO Harry Potter game that is somewhat similar to Animal Crossing. You hang out with your friends in Hogwarts, attend lessons, decorate the dormitory, craft potions and furniture, play Quidditch... Something that really gives you that immersion and community feeling.

Nah, then it just takes time away from the next single player game... and there aren't enough of them as it is, so leave it alone. We so rarely get a single player rpg in third person with character customization, and a big reason is because Bethesda and Bioware wasted time making incredibly bad multiplayer games. Been waiting 8 years for a Dragon Age follow up to DAI, that left us on a cliffhanger. Some MMOs are fine, but not everything need some kind of co-op or multiplayer option.

@@kanifis apparently it's around 70 hours for 100% completion. That's not accounting for all the people who will take their time to immerse themselves in the world and even just kind of live in it. Vanilla Skyrim alone took me around 400 hours to "complete" just because I immersed myself in it.
