The 'red circles' are very useful because it allows you to avoid damage you might otherwise miss when theres a million other things going on like in a trial or in pvp. Mounts all go the same speed, you just have to feed them daily and their speed increases by 1 each time, to a maximum of 60. But you can also upgrade stamina of the mount and carrying capacity. PLEASE NOTE Nixxiom is still a 'noob' in eso, some information is off but most is correct, but he is still new.

Red circles are only for some abilities in pve. In PVP, there are no circles. Mount choice is very limited, but they give away free pets / mounts / costumes from daily rewards and events (indrik, psijic mount, even from crown crates you earn by leveling). Too bad Asmon only saw this style of combat. Actual combat both in pve and PvP with animation canceling, blocking, dodging, interrupting is much faster and more fun.

Yeah, I wanted to commend about the same thing. You can go to any raid/dungeon and you'll see AT LEAST a few of those NPC who summon a circle on the ground before casting their spell. This even applies for world bosses or rare npcs.

Playing ESO right now after 12 years of WoW. I like the freedom of ESO (sandboxy) and much better quests and it just has everything I wanted from MMO. I really recommend to try it. And more I play it better it gets. After WoW I was confused about how skills, attributes, and fight mechanic work, it takes some time to get it. I don't think WoW will ever catch up ESO.

ESO is not a sandbox MMO, it just has a lot of content and unlike WoW it actually knows how to keep it all fun and relevant, instead of throwing the entire thing away every patch. It feels like a sandbox just because there's always SO much quality stuff to do, and content has never been made irrelevant.

And also ESO pays a lot of attention to "different" playstyles, like Housing, Trading, Roleplaying. There are a lot of players that play the game as economy simulation, buying and selling items, speculating on price rises and drops. With the huge variety of houses there are entire housing guilds, that spend one month decorating a house and then have a competition of who did the best house this month. And Roleplaying is HUGE in ESO: It profits from the TES franchises. Many people want to roleplay in this world after playing the singleplayer titles and with the huge variety of costumes, armor styles, animations and the option to create your costom roleplay location via housing it is probably one of the roleplay friendlies MMOs out there. And in addition to that it also has a very vivid PvP community and of course lots of PvE content for Solo players and Groups alike.

I’ve put thousands of hours into ESO and this video only shows a very small portion of the game well before endgame. And while the game has plenty of content and replayability I don’t know if it’s suited to someone who is as hardcore as asmongold. There aren’t collectibles the same way wow works (mounts etc). And finally there is no way asmon will get past the boring, grinding part of the game in 1 day (MMO Monday if he follows through)

I went through a quest to help a father collect all his previous memories so his kids won't hate him for all he did. I enjoyed every moment of completing this quest. And I can't wait to go back and continue from where I left off, helping a high elf solve a murder. The suspect? The ghost of the green.

WoW's gearing system is about as linear as it gets, I've never played ESO but do play another sandbox MMO, OSRS. In that game there is no 'BiS', theres a whole range of gear setups that will or will not be optimal depending on the type of PvE or PvP you are doing. So I can completely understand what Nixxiom is saying about ESO.

ESO does have a meta, but the difference between meta and non-meta gear is like a few percent. Didn't used to be the case, a couple years back you kinda did have to use meta gear for good DPS, but Zenimax has been slowly balancing all the gear and skills so they all feel about the same. In PVE, at least. PVP, there literally is no meta. You choose the gear which works the best for your build and playstyle, and you just get comfortable with what you run.

@Asmon you need to see a video of how actual combat in ESO works. Nixioms a good guy but hes still new and he is using the bare bones visuals of combat in eso, alot of eso is Weaving and ani canceling in conjuction with active combat and reactionary timing. The combat in eso is extremely smooth when you understand how to properly use it, and barswap at the right time in mid-combat while dodge rolling and blocking and casting skills at appropriate times and not dying to your opponets timed bursts and CC breaking. CC break is available to everyone and all CC's share a 6 second global cooldown, snares also have global cooldowns and have skills for magic and stamina players to remove them with other added effects. All skills have ZERO cooldowns, its entirely dependent on your resources. And how you manage them. Some skills do have a cast or channel to them though depeding on your class and spec. Not many though. All characters can also choose to be a werewolf or Vampire and these specs can greatly influence your gear and spec into entirely new ways and require entire different setups There are so many ways. There are also counters and checks much like Rock paper scissors in ESO. So even though you may kill one person with your setup, someone elses build may directly kill you even if they lost to the guy you beat depending on your skill levels. Also, Nixioms right there is no True BiS for pvp or pve. It truly is dependent on your class and playstyle. Particularly your class and wether you are a stamina or magicka based player (you can be either) for your class. You can always switch to being magic or stamina based later on if you want to swap your skill morphs if you end up liking stam or mag more. Some classes are a little better suited for mag or stamina, or better suited for range or close combat. And many different sets compliment many different ways you play stam vs mag or range vs close quaters. With different effects.

If you play ESO on ps4 I can tell you exactly what you want to know. Imo ESO is more enjoyable on console than PC. Mainly because it is more comfortable and just feels better This is partly why I cant really get into wow. I have a good computer for it, and I created an account for it and did the beginner areas. But playing on PC is just not great, its not the graphics either that puts me off. The combat and gear in WoW is also just terrible compared to ESO's smooth gameplay with active participation and quick thinking. Also just PC gaming in itself, keyboard and mouse is not good for your wrists and muscle tone and can give premature arthiritis. Its uncomfortable and unlike on console, you cannot readily play it farther away, or on a big screen sitting on a couch comfortable. Not easily at least. Controllers are MUCH better for healthy gaming due to ease of use, good blood flow, and comfort.

There is like 400 different sets, in Pvp there is NO best sets, in Pve yes. I'm playing with a crafted set, a another one that I looted in a dungeon, and a monster. there is only 5 classes (6 soon) but we could think of 50+ archetype or playstyle, so, NO, there is no best in slot set for Pvp.

Zack is resisting but he's really starting to love ESO i played wow since 2004 and after i played ESO, i was stoked by it. i hated the 1st interaction when the game tried to be a WoW clone, but when they changed to a Complete Elder Scrolls Mp experience, i was sold. and all of this happened because ZoS unlike blizzard, HEARD their community, from both single player and ingame former Wow and FF9 veterans who pretty much said(stay away from the WoW copycat and be what you are) and Yes, First Person PVE ESO is great for Single player content, First person combat in this game is perfect, even more than vanilla skyrim itself.

Eso is so shit boring and repetitive within the first 10minutes. Iv got maybe 24 hours play time tops and it just bored me and felt like a chore to do anything. For me bdo is much better. Combat is more fun the life skilling is much better, gear enhancing, pvp everywhere, world bosses, field bosses. 1 time purchase not no bullshit you need dlc to have access to the other 90% of the content and shit like crafting jewellery. Spends 10a on eso then has to buy 3 dlc to unlock majority of the map and certain skills. I thought i was going to love it being a huge skyrim fan but it was just awful

when I began, I've noticed that reading books in some quest's vicinity could give hints about how to easily get over the dungeon.. That was when I was a noob, when I got more experienced in the game and came over to grind for stuff and skill points, I ended up ignoring those books lying around everywhere (if not for opening them in order to have the chance to win some skill experience), and just stuck to the quests dialogs... Still, some are well written and they're all related to the global Lore which is cool.

@@tazzeightsixfour9721 That doesn't mean a meta doesn't exist though, that just means that the meta in question is only meta for magicka builds, while stamina builds use a different meta. And that *is* the case in PVE, there *is* a meta for magicka damage dealers, there *is* a meta for stamina damage dealers, same with tanks and healers. What makes ESO "sandboxy" is the fact that the meta is quite loose. A few sets do pull ahead, but only by a few percent, so if you aren't doing super high end content like chasing raid scores, you can participate in almost all content wearing basic beginner crafted sets and an easy to acquire monster set.

yup, all depends on what you want to do. you can be a magicka warden and never die, a dk that takes on zergs, a stamblade that shreds groups and disappears. just takes time, research, and practice

For me I love the combat in ESO. It isn't as complex as WoW, you have less options on your bar, and of course there is still the meta builds if you want to do veteran stuff. But I like the smaller number of bar space personally (10 total, 5 for each of 2 weapons you can swap during combat [plus 2 ultimates]). But this is only what's on your bar, there are over 80 active skills (not including ultimates) that you can choose from, and only 15 of those 80 are class based. That doesn't even touch on passives, ultimates, and champion points. So you have less choices of skills actually IN combat, but a whole hell of a lot more choices than WoW when it comes to building the character you'll bring to that combat. Like WoW you have a general rotation that sometimes (for those who use it, some are against it) there is animation canceling (doing something like tapping block to break the animation of an ability after it has been cast [and its damage is done] so you can cast the next thing sooner than you would by letting the animation finish first) which can take some getting used to, as well as knowing when to block, dodge, interrupt, etc. I think it has the potential to be just as interesting and exciting as WoW, especially if you want to work towards being very elite about it. It looks different, but I think it's got the potential to be just as good, given the chance! As for gear, again there is a META and that includes gear, and the gear that is the meta for your build will come from a couple different sources. I don't know if it still is but even crafted gear is the Meta for some builds. So like your Stamina Nightblade will have 5 pieces of one set, maybe a trial set, and 4 pieces of another set, maybe an overland set or a crafted set, and then 2 pieces from still another set, maybe an Arena set. But you don't HAVE to go with the Meta unless you want to do really hardcore veteran end game stuff (which you probably do).

the combat shown here looks as if your character does 1 maybe 2 things, but the eso combat is much more in-depth than what you see at face value. What may look like a self buff, sword swing, and lightning bolt is really a mixture of multiple buffs, debuffing, constantly using basic attacks weaved in with the right amount of dots and CC’s, all while casting your own heals and shields. No cool downs means in 8 seconds you can drop 6 abilities, drink a potion, use your ultimate and throw down 5 light attacks

SETS: ,1 of this sets its going to be the best, NO NO NO 1 class can be played in different way (different builds), u can pair 1 set from crafting with 1 set from pvp for ex: and go raiding. It all depends on your build. u have no clue of the diversity of builds in eso . In this game there are almost 100 different sets. and you can mach them depending of what kind of build you want to play.

The beauty of ESO from a PVE DPS players perspective is the combat the skill gap reflected by the very nature of that system. You can put a player in the the absolute BIS gear for their specific role and then another in easy to obtain BOE gear and 10/10 the player that can properly execute a rotation will pull higher no way around it. I’ve never played MMO’s before ESO. I came to it because I wanted to occupy my time before elder scrolls 6 to be honest. The combat is rewarding because your damage is a direct reflection of your skill. Keeping your dots up, while animation canceling. Weaving in light attacks and heavy attacks between single target abilities on your front bar. All while observing one shot mechanics. It’s nerve wracking and a lot of fun. I’m not familiar with tab targeting or auto attacking systems. That sounds supremely boring. 50 man raids? Sounds like a good way to hide out and get carried. Then again I know nothing of wow:

As for the combat, ether you will love it or hate it. I came from a lot of differing games and love the free targeting system. Tab target games require a lot less skill imo, hell you don’t even need to be facing your target for the majority of abilities. With eso you have to look your enemy in the eye! Many people that have played tab target games, for long periods, seem to have a really hard time adjusting, but if they do they find it hard to go back.

well said. in a lot of the content like vas, vhof, dps picking and focusing the right target is paramount to clearing so tab target is required. tab target is as easy as easy as tab on to the right enemy, if you're not on the right enemy, hit the clear button clear to reset tab target and then tab till you're on the right enemy. if i remember right, it cycles with repeated tab presses. don't remember bc i cleared everything and sold my account a couple months ago tbh

That was a pretty bad dps then. The nice thing about ESO is that you could make, for example, a somewhat viable rogue tank. Or any other combo. Building your spellcaster for warhammering baddies. Some years back the meta was making one of the melee classes (dragonknight iirc) a mage dps.

@@cgdoubleu3823 because the CP talent tree increases your damage and defenses. If you're a low CP then you're not optimized. The sad part is, the only way to grind out the levels is to kill mobs over and over until your eyes bleed. It's a terrible system if you play MMOs for the end game raiding.

I've played WoW, SWTOR, FFXIV, GW2 and BDO and none of them trapped me like ESO did. Max CP and still enjoying it every day since 2014. It had a rocky launch but it's be redone and fixed so well. It really is amazing. I hope he plays it!

@@ratchet319 Umm I think you are forgetting WoW's current state. It was part of the reason why Asmon stopped streaming for a sec. Why would he lose views? I guarantee 90% of the people in stream are there just to watch Asmongold, so I feel if he touched up on other big title games (like Guild Wars 2, OSRS, Warframe, PoE etc.) he'd get a mass influx of newer viewers who also like that game. Haven't you noticed that some of Asmons best content these days are watching other KZbin videos and reacting, or playing other games? Just take a look at his Dark Souls streams and such.

He's hate of the red circle probably comes from the fact that he never played an MMo that have AoE 1 shot abilities. WoW lets you sit in green for a second or two thats why you don't see these circles in such a game. But FF online and ESO have a ton of 1 shot AoE that requier some way to telegraph the income instant death to players.

the way the sets in eso are is you have 4 sets you can pick from that make you the best in a category but wont make you all around the best. You can have the highest health and resistance for tank but don't have the highest control or group bonuses.

Pantheon is looking so fuckin good. They're starting to do real work on the animations and visuals, and combined with the Classic-WoW/Old-school EQ feel of the gameplay, it is shaping up to be just incredible. Let's hope no shenanigans happen with the budget or something like that, because there is some real talent on their dev team and that's the only thing that I think poses a risk to the game's development.

You can tab target in ESO; it’s mostly used in complex pulls and such. You don’t have always have to use it though.

The chat is wrong, mounts in ESO are cosmetic, speed and stamina improve with training on the stable guy, and it is bound to character not to the mount. So whatever mount you use it will have the same speed as the other. Only bad thing is you can't earn them ingame. Complains about circles but plays WOW, complains about circles being immersion breaking but wants bigger fonts for DMG WTF!! *BRUUUUUUU!!* What i could agree with him would be RAIDS, are quite small compared to others MMO true, and that can be bad for some. Want immersion play with default ESO settings, you barely see anything on screen like fonts or what not, that is full immersion, but that's not what he wants so WTF is immersion to him.

Used to play ESO for like 6 months on Xbox. It was pretty fun but most of the time I kinda wished it was more like a TES game and less like an MMO. The thing I ended up doing the most was stealing stuff in Riften from containers and locked chests, probably cause it felt like the most Elder Scrolls-y thing in the game for me (and it was a good way to make money pretty fast). ESO really is quite full of sandbox-y freedom though but it ended up just barely not being for me. I do really envy people who are right there in the middle ground between liking MMOs and liking TES games though, cause I can imagine ESO being a ton of fun for those people.

The worst thing is that he will try it, but experience only 5 % of the game and then judge it. He won't have time spent in the game to be able to experience every feature of the game. He won't be able to get into a big cyrodiil group, he won't try veteran trials (which are brutal) etc. And then there is the lack of collectible mounts / pets. At least transmog is cool.
