Yeah, the more subtle abusive aspects are also heavily pointing in her direction, as you can hear clear gaslighting in the audio recordings. Johnny isn't squeaky clean by any means with some of the things he's done or said, but it's still nowhere close. Between all the historical violence, emotional fits in front of children or acting out in strange ways, attacking her own family and so on, it's heavily leaning toward her. You're dramatizing. You're exaggerating. I only hit you, I didn't punch you. Grow up. Be a man. I didn't do that. Don't call me a liar or I'll retaliate, and so on. It's blatant abusive relationship 101 stuff. I still find it absolutely insane when people find out that I was sexually abused as a child and say that it's impossible because I'm a male. I was helpless and weak, and it still messes with how I go about approaching a romantic relationship. I was also abused physically and mentally by my ex-gf of 5 years, and I get messages from strangers she told telling me that I deservered it. Johnny Depp serves as an icon for domestic violence against males. Yes, we can definitely be abused. No, we are not perfect and neither are you (you, being females), but that doesn't mean we deserve to be abuse; no one deserves that. Everyone loves to talk about how many females don't admit to being sexual assaulted or abused, but consider the fact that no one talks about how men don't come out about being sexually assaulted or abused. Want to know why? Because men have to be strong. Now, I'm not a soft or weak person. I have done years of physical labor as expected of me as a male member of society, but that doesn't mean I don't have feelings. Hell, I want to be expressive. I want to cry and not be criticized about it. I want to be vulnerable around friends, family, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc, but if being vulnerable and having that taken advantage of is "deserved" because I'm a male then that's fucked up. This legal stuff going on with Amber and Johnny has given me hope that men can be just as emotional and vulnerable as women. This is a huge moment for men like myself, and I think people should really think about that. Just as women deserve rights to their own bodies, equal pay, equal opportunity, etc, men do too. Events like these are what are making this world better for all of us. We have BLM, LGBTQ+, Women rights, and so much more. Let's use these as eye openers to be more considerate of one another. If you have read all of this, I want you to know that I'm thankful and I love you. You deserve love and compassion just like anyone else. I know life is tough and sometimes things seem like they can't get better, but you're strong and will get through it. We are all in this together. Edit: To those that have responded, I want to thank all of you. Much love to every single person. I do want to mention that I have been in a very loving relationship with my current girlfriend. She was very patient with me given my history. I just want you all to know that I'm doing rather well, and reading all of the comments helped brighten my day. You're all amazing. Thank you so much.

It really sucks that the law only wants to support females now. My uncle was abused by his ex-wife. She cheated on him, broke his hand, and tried running him over. And because he’s a man he didn’t want to tell people. It doesn’t help he was abused by his mom, which seems made him go to these kind of woman. He lost his kids to her because she was the mom. She then lost the kids and he got with this other chick who got him back into drugs and drinking after years of sobering up for his kids. Well, she just stayed home all day while he worked and she wouldn’t even clean the house. She ended up blaming it on him because he was supposed to not be a ‘pussy’ and do everything. Well, now he doesn’t have his kids again for the final time. She convinced my uncle to harass the family who has the kids and would drive him around. He so fucked up now. I remember him being the closest thing to a dad I had when I was younger. I always thought he would be a great parent because he sorta raised me. But his ex-wife ruined that. Not to mention she got rid of all his friends when she got pregnant because ‘they were bad influences’. They were also his only support system

I keep saying that too… it wasn’t like watching an abuse victim recount these awful experiences, it was like watching someone play an abuse victim in a TV movie or something. The strangest things do come to mind when recounting abuse, but not in the way she described, I think she heard a real victim say that and assumed what it might look like. For example - I can’t watch the movie Underworld, I’m not even sure if that’s the title, it’s the one with Kate beckinsale or someone speaking a lot in it. It was on in the background when something bad happened to me. And I remember it as a weird detail that stuck with me, hearing clips of that movie if someone switches it on tv or whatever makes my stomach involuntarily roll. But when having to speak about my abuse to the police, that wasn’t my focus or my only memory, it was more of an addition to the actual memory than the entirety. That voice makes me feel weird and uncomfortable, even in other movies. But in the few times I’ve had to speak, I barely even mention in because in those memories it’s tiny, it’s not anything to do with what happened, it’s something I didn’t even notice had stayed with me until much later. I didn’t realise I had noticed it so hard at the time. Rambling on trying to explain it sorry. I hope someone out there gets what I mean.

Same for Johnny, my dad is a lot like him, quiet, meek, private keeps to himself type of guy. Amber knows what she’s doing. How she switches from full on crying (without tears) to a completely straight face. It’s infuriating to watch & soul crushing to see a loved one be treated that way so honestly I know exactly how Lily-Rose & Jack felt around Amber. Once I got older I flat out refused to speak or even look at my stepmother even though I lived with them. She complained to my dad & tried her best to play victim & acted as if I, a 15-16 yr old girl was hurting her feelings bc I wouldn’t speak to her. She wanted to turn my own father against me bc I wasn’t okay with her beating on my dad, cheating on him multiple times, just being completely toxic all the way around. These people are dangerous & diabolical!

I didn't know anything about this until a couple of weeks ago, didn't even know Depp had got a divorce, but I knew she was lying with the first clip I saw of her in the courtroom. Amber was leaning over from the stand to say something to her lawyer and she had a slight smile on her face. When she straightened up in her chair her face went right back to frowny face in a second, and it didn't look natural at all. @Ragachagel2 жыл бұрын
I've been talking about this with some internet friends who have sided with her. Their belief is that 'any woman who has been a victim of abuse but supports Johnny Depp have been swung that way because of the media campaign and because Johnny is just so likable. I've left that conversation because I just couldn't say, once again, that they didn't just like him, they were empathizing with him. It was a much, much stronger and logical reaction than just being spun about , as if their poor, little abused brains just couldn't figure things out properly. These friends had seen none of the evidence in court and were basing their judgements on an article posted by a DV expert who also hadn't seen anything to do with the case either. It was maddening because it really was a case of "I'm right, he's evil, you're wrong and so if everyone who disagrees with me, even though I have little to base that on". One of them argued that the opinion of ordinary, regular DV survivors carried less weight than an expert, which is stupid because both carry merit for different reasons.
@AM-mp7ug2 жыл бұрын
It's not really that complicated to understand why some women support Amber. There are several reasons, 1) They identify as feminists and supporting JD who is a man goes against their agenda which is only women can be domestically abused by men and men can never be victimized by women. Thereby harming the credibility of the MeToo movement and stop ppl from simply always believing women at their word. 2) To admit that AH is the abuser and ruined JD's life requires them to admit that women have power over men, enough to ruin a man's life which again goes against their agenda to promote women as always being the powerless victims being victimized by the men of society. 3) They have been abused by a man in the past and have thus developed an irrational hatred of all men and view men as the enemy and thus supporting JD would be like siding with the enemy for them. 4) They believe supporting a male survivor of DV takes the spotlight away from female victims whom they think deserve all the support and men can take care of themselves. 5) They believe that by supporting a man they are supporting the Patriarchy as giving men more power and support harms the future of women positioning themselves as being perpetual victims and that women don't have influence over men in society.

When Amber accused Johnny, everyone jumped on it very very quickly, with very little evidence. Now Johnny is accusing and he has a lot of evidence and still he is not believed. That is called hypocrisy and anti feminism. If Johnny had accused her first of abuse and she took him to court for defamation she would be the one believed with a lot less evidence than what he has to show now and it would definitely be seen as him still abusing her. If a man said what Amber said in the recordings there would have been no doubts on who the abuser was. People would have been up in arms. I have also noticed that the mentality is that if Amber was abused and defended herself either physically or verbally that would be reactive violence and would be more or less acceptable. Johnny defending himself verbally and physically is seen as abusive. They were mutually abusive and the relationship was toxic and offcourse she would be 'allowed' to be even more reactive because of his reactive actions.. Double standards are a b*tch. I have noticed though that a lot of people who have been abused, women and men, have said they don't believe her. She reacts differently than the usual reactions from victims. (obviously not everyone reacts the same, but there are a few general 'guidelines' of how victims normally react). People have also been saying they can see their abusers in her actions and mannerisms and speech.

I have to admit. Amber had me fooled when she said she donated all her divorce settlement to charity. Once the leaked recordings started coming out, I quickly changed my mind. The fact that the judge in the UK trial made the entire decision based on her lie about donating her entire settlement to charity is enraging. He was literally quoted as “donating your 7 million divorce settlement to charity is not the actions of a gold digger”. He obviously didn’t look into if she had actually donated anything and made his rulings based on nothing substantial. So hearing people say that because he lost in the UK we should listen to Amber, is just ignorant. People who defend her only do so because they refuse to look at the evidence against her. Sure if you only listened to her story you could believe whatever she says. However when it’s proven she lied multiple times, how can you not start to question your opinions about it?

When I first heard about this abusive relationship many years ago, my first thought was you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Once this defamation trail started and I'm able to see everything and the evidence I started to choose sides. It had nothing to do with how famous Johnny is. I've seen videos of him at children hospitals as Captain Jack Sparrow and I think it shows his love for kids and his fans. There are very few people who would go out of their way and do that without making a big scene for the public view. but that is one example of his character. It seems that the only thing AH has to show is his drug and alcohol abuse. I think it comes down to her word against his in the public opinion but the evidence shows the truth.
@HaapainenRouske2 жыл бұрын
I feel that these people just can't face the ugliness of lying about these sorts of things. It does happen. That's why public allegations need to be investigated, not blindly believed just because of the subject of the accusation. I have no issue with Amber not crying or "acting the part", I was suspicious of it but we all deal with trauma in different ways, so that's not the point. I could also believe not documenting the abuse, it's very sensitive issue. I could accept not having any medical records of it for the same reason. I could even accept the changing testimony if it makes sense in the context, since memory is very fallible. She also used so many drugs that I wouldn't find it odd for her memory to just not work correctly and things would get jumbled. I find it pretty odd that multiple doctors, police officers and bodyguards fail to notice or literally write down that no injuries was observed, but okay, maybe they're all in on it. Maybe everyone is simply just blinded by Depp's star-power that they are ready to lie or are just dismissive. But she just does not have _any_ visible injuries after being beat so hard she lost count? Zero. It was covered with makeup? Really? A SPLIT LIP was covered with just lipstick? A BROKEN NOSE (or what he described felt like broken nose) was covered with just foundation? It's just impossible. I feel like I'm being insulted when she's shown a picture that has either super light on or had no makeup at all, and with a straight face she says that "yes, in that picture I have bruising and a (maybe) broken nose from day before but you can't see it because it's under the makeup" when there's absolutely _nothing_ to see. It just not possible. And you don't have to read an article about it, the evidence is on the court website. It's so obvious that she's lying that when I hear people siding with her I feel like I'm the crazy one. Amber Heard does not deserve this support. We don't change the world for the better if we protect abusers just so that the narrative isn't disrupted. They want to believe victims? Then why is it so hard to believe Depp? Because Amber accused him first? Because he's a male? Well, I have to admit that there's obviously a power difference so that could be it. But I just think that people defending Heard just don't want to believe that anyone could be so cruel - to lie about something very real that happens to so many people every day, that hurts, humiliates and leaves a lasting impact that can and is used against them because justice against sexual abuse is very hard to get. That's why they have to believe Heard's story, because if it's not true, they have been all this time supporting someone who used victims of dv for their own gain. It's violating. It hurts so much. So they can't accept it. It's too painful.
