Kyle had a big heart to go so hard for Wings, but I've made the mistake of trying to tackle self-improvement at a sprint instead of treating it like a marathon, and the problem is that it hurts too bad. I see why Wings couldn't stick it out in that situation, but he also didn't treat the friends who had good intentions respectfully even when things didn't work out. To anyone out there aiming to improve, take it a step at a time. Whether its weight loss, quitting addiction, or even working on procrastination. You aren't going wake up one day and be thin, or be without cravings, or have stellar work ethic. It's not a battle that can be fought in a week or a month and then put behind you. Day by day, it may seem like nothing changes, but when the years go by, you'll look back and realize you aren't the same. Hopefully you'll be in a better place.

The point of a "boot camp" isn't to continue doing that forever, it's just preparation. Marines don't go through boot camp because they'll be going through those struggles daily, they do it so the struggles they eventually face will be tame in comparison and easier to handle
@Nate77HK
@Nate77HK 2 жыл бұрын
@@rayquaza1245 They also go through boot camp to learn enduring habits and skills that are necessary for them to maintain for the rest of their career, but I see what you're saying. The beginning is the hardest part even if you aren't intentionally frontloading the challenge, but I think especially where it concerns weight loss a lot of people go back to old lifestyle choices after their diet/workout phase and that defeats the point of the 'boot camp.' Also, a lot of people don't make it all the way through boot camp, so that approach might not be the best choice for everyone.

Someone once asked Bruce Lee if he could beat Mohamad Ali. He said, "no". He basically told them that Mohamad was way too big and had way too much reach and he couldn't have beaten him in a match. Bruce Lee wasn't a blowhard, he was realistic. He understood limitations and size advantages. He also understood philosophy and the need to remove pointless tradition from conventional martial arts in order to optimize them. His efforts may have influenced what eventually became mixed martial arts, which is a HUGE competitive sport today. Bruce Lee is a legend, but he was also mortal and he understood and respected that.

I don't think it's entirely uniform and unconditional like that. Pyrocynical is a huge target of mockery too, and is the only person popular enough for me to know of with a 100% confirmed fat fetish, and a lot of other things (follicles) people are constantly making fun of him for, but he'll often counter his audience and get pissed at stuff people say. The difference there is that he also makes fun of himself, makes good comebacks for a lot of accusations, and generally comes across as somebody who won't think about the criticism long after it's said. A behavior shown with his signature "cry about it." The real trouble comes when you start going on an un structured tangent, raising your pitch and changing your intonation, making it very clear that you are in fact the one crying about it. I still don't think it's respectable to be the guy to feed on that insecurity, but it's to be expected on those conditions. That's where the (emotion here)-cows come from.

I really like Josh Moon's take on it. When it comes to empathy, there exists a sort of uncanny valley, where a person becomes so pathetic, that instead of compassion people around them start feeling irritated. Think Bill from King of the Hill. That dog-like whimper at 44:10 is the moment Wings gets into that valley.
@andreaalajmo271
@andreaalajmo271 Жыл бұрын
Mh, i dont agree on that one. I feel like it's just that he is so pathetic BUT relatable to a lot of people, feeling empathy for the guy would mean accepting you're in his same spot, and that's a nono. Personally i feel empathy for that clip, a lot. I've been in his mental state (without his weight problem) and have recognised i was a shitty person. And for that, i feel sad that he is pretty much unredeemable, cause he's alone, he can't find anyone to help him grow into a better person, and is pretty much condemned to this limbo of being mentally abused while working, with the catch that leaving would just remove all options but suicide. I dont think he's a good person, he's done and said pretty terrible shit. But he doesn't deserve that kind of treatment. Nobody does, that's some fucking warcrime level abusive behaviour and the perpetrators should be held accountable. And also, people should realise how much of a cunt Kyle aka FpsRussia was and still is. I believe sunnyv2 has a video on his downfall as well.

Wing's story is really sad to me, because people went out of their way to help him, often at their expense, and he just...doesn't take it. Then begins the pity parties and how there's nothing he can do, when a lot of it is just him unwilling to do so. That and him being so misleading to the people who supported him in regards to where their funds are going. I want to feel bad for the guy but I really feel like he's the one digging his own hole for a lot of this. I don't support the actions of the people who dedicate themselves to trolling him but a lot of this is his own doing. If he was just the least bit humble in that 1v1? I doubt anything that came after would've happened. After the super weird bribe attempt, that was the last straw for a lot of folks.

I was nearly as big as WoR and I've lost nearly 200 pounds over the past two years. Literally half the man I was. Crazy thing is, one of my (many) rock bottoms was this video about WoR a few years back from this guy name Knudsen or something? Can't remember. But yeah it was this huge video and very entertaining and halfway through I was like "holy hell...that's me." And looking back and having gone through extreme weight loss, I can see where WoR (and Kyle) went very wrong. They went too hard too fast. Exercise at his size isn't only unnecessary, but probably more harmful than good because the thing about being 400 pounds, it hurts to move and is very difficult. You HAVE to start off slow. When I started exercising, I would just walk a half hour to an hour straight. Excellent exercise for anyone, but probably the only exercise you can do at 400 pounds. You don't lose that much weight from exercise, you lose it in the kitchen. Eat better and much, much less. I'm not sure what Kyle was feeding him since 'healthy' is pretty vague, but if it's simply salads and crap, he's gonna fall off that diet really quick.
@IAmTheDerg
@IAmTheDerg 2 жыл бұрын
Kyle probably had him on the CBR diet lol, and during my 80lb weight loss last year, I found I actually ate MORE food while in a deficit because it was a lot of low calorie-dense foods. But yeah, totally agree they went a little too hard. He could've just had someone meal prep and made tremendous strides, and once his organs and joints were no longer screaming from carrying around 200+ extra pounds of adipose tissue - THEN get him breaking a sweat from activity.

Do watch those movies where they were both together, and it's abundantly clear they are at most one boxing weight class different. I think Asmon misunderstood the movie reasoning. Hong Kong had numerous clubs that had tourneys multiple times a year. Saying Bruce Lee never won anything is like saying Rocky Johnson (The Rock's Dad) never won the WWE/WWF, because there simply. It's always easier for you to understand items closer to your sphere of influence. There is no physical record of Bruce Lee winning because it's kinda hard to organize anything with civil unrest constantly going on against the british (curfews and whatnot). Remember, just like the soviet union with churches, 40s germany with swing music, the british were heavily monitoring the gyms where many young men were coalescing. Bruce and Chuck are the same age and both entered the movie business. Asmon is not wrong to be confident in believing Chuck might win, with him actually having a fighting record but I think, for the sake of a fair argument, he should have spent that 3 seconds to understand Bruce Lee's background. Truthfully, comparing a man who fights and regularly wins with set rules vs a man that fought policemen, gangsters, and fighting masters in the alleys of HK, it would be hard to gauge who would win. I suspect that Bruce Lee's shady HK history whilst being a respectable fighter made Chuck believe Bruce might win (Chuck is might also be being too humble and kind).

I've been practice both karate and Wing Chun myself for over a decade and I just wanted to point out that while Chuck Norris was a tough SOB and a legendary champion, someone one being a karate tournament champion doesn't necessarily mean they'd be good in a real fight against another trained martial artist and I think the context is atleast worth mentioning because Bruce and Chuck's martial practices outside of the hollywood setting were very different. I'm also not saying that Bruce Lee would for sure beat him or anything either, but In karate tournaments the bout only lasts until the first proper blow is landed and a point is earned, unlike boxing or actual street fighting with no rules. Bruce Lee didn't like point matches because they're not real fighting and he didnt like the idea of stopping at a single blow because that makes no sense outside of the context of a sport, and he wanted to train for the street rather than sport because he grew up having to defend himself at times. It's a little bit difficult to compare the two when one goes until someone is down or dead, and the other only goes until a single blow has landed. That being said, seeing a real and non choreographed fight between the two would be awesome and it would be cool to see the two titans of their time clash regardless of who came out on top. I wouldn't even know who to root for

Allow me to settle the Bruce lee vs chuck norris debate: They made a literal movie together during the height of chucks taekwondo career (great movie too.) while training for the movie chuck taught Bruce many techniques that he incorporated into both training and future movies. Bruce considered chuck to be a mentor and also afterwards flew out to California to train with Mr. Norris for a whole summer. It’s not even a fair comparison, Bruce lee was a talented martial artist and often considered The Godfather of MMA. BUT he was still considered a student of many styles and not truly a master of any. In the one known video of him sparring, he demonstrated a glaring number of holes in his style that people have pointed out since he died. Chuck wasn’t even the only person who was known to have been significantly better then Bruce while working with him. Gene label is another interesting story

There is something very important Asmon needs to know, it's that matial arts competitions, especially outside MMA, don't really reflect how a fighter would fare in a real fight. Tournaments are sport, with many limitations, and many great fighters don't care about them. Bruce Lee was involved in real fights many times, and developed Jeet Kune Do in that regard. He was not just a sportsman, he was both a martial artist and a brawler to begin with. Bruce Lee's speed and strength for his size were unmatched, Chuck Norris himself told he was "lightning fast" and looked up to him as an exceptional fighter. According to Jon T Benn, he asked Chuck who would win between Bruce and himself, and Chuck answered without hesitating : "Bruce of course. Nobody can beat him.". Of course it's a bit of a stretch because of his height and weight, but when it comes to just Bruce and Chuck, I think it would be Bruce.

@@liuzhaoqi2003 modern karate as a base is quite different from self defense techniques, there are karate practitioners who incorporate mma techniques these days. Look at old Conor Mcgregor using a karate stance or Wonder Boy Thompson who started off kickboxing in Chuck Norris’s kickboxing league and still uses a karate stance.

"... from watching his movies, not his wins in competition, since he wasn't an active martial artist competitor." ... Seemed like you left a relevant idea off that paragraph so I just wanted to finish it for you. Because all those people you mentioned base their opinion off of movies, since they can't point to any W's this man made in a competition against national-level talent. Bias is Bias, nothing you said changes that basic idea. No one asked "Who would be the better movie fighter?" We have great examples to support the answer to that question. "Who would win in a fight?" ... We have Chuck Norris beating up national-level talent, and Bruce Lee ... beating up actors. Hey, you do you bro, you're welcome to whatever opinion you'd like.

@@-Gax- Like memes aside Chuck has several black belts himself and holded the world title for the midweight karate championship for 6 years. Its not that people look down of Bruce, he is also a great fighter for sure, its just that well ods are in chuck favor by simply more provable achievements.

@@GamingTeaParty Late comment but Bruce Lee is a proven fighter. His entire style of martial arts Jeet Kune Do is a combination of multiple fighting styles and is essentially one of the earliest MMA style fighters. His ideology was to finish fights fast as to reduce the chance of you being hurt. I agree that in a regulated fight, Chuck Norris would have the advantage but to say he destroys Bruce Lee is retarded. In a street fight, Bruce is putting Chuck in a wheel chair. People need to do a little research before having such strong opinions.

For a period of about two years, Lee and Norris trained and worked out together in Norris' backyard. According to Norris, their training together never involved an actual fight, but he has admitted in the past that some “sparring” did occur in their training. Now with this info and The knowledge that Chuck Norris has said multiple times Bruce would beat him in a fight it’s clear who would win.

The job stuff is definitely true. It seems like everywhere I go, every company hires through temp agency’s. It’s always “you’ll get hired on in 90 days” and then you’ve been there for 8 months (literally the job I have right now) and you’re still not with the company. I’m 28 years old and the longest I’ve ever worked somewhere is where I work now (8 months, still a temp) and the most I’ve ever made is what I make now, 18 bucks. The worst part is there is no where else I can go. I’m in school right now so hopefully that gets better but it’s very depressing.

I hope Wings and others like him get to a point where they don't get hurt by the trolls.

The thing about championships and competitive Martial arts is: There's too many rules and you can't break them or you forfeit/lose. Someone once rightly said that a champion Karate MA won't beat someone like a competent kickboxer or even self taught, but very experienced MMA fighter becauce Karate or any other single individual disciplines have to abide by the rulesets of said disciplines. It does not deviate from it. A karate fighter is trained only to fight another Karate fighter, Judo vs Judo etc. One might be a champion in a particular MA discipline, doesn't mean that if they went out on a ring they would win unless the same exact rulesets are defined. This is where MMA comes in, which is mixed martial arts - combined all the martial arts/kickboxing disciplines for maximum effect and lethality, and those fighters would wipe the floor with all the Individual Karate/Judo/Jiu Jitsu champions because they don't conform within a single discipline or ruleset.

One thing I can disagree with Asmong on is the fact that Bruce lee although did not win championships was however a known underground street fighter for the triades, so I would say that would be a huge exception. Considering the type of fight rules or not Brice lee may have had an upper edge considering his street fighting knowledge.

I always found complaints about camping odd. Firstly, holding an angle is a very common duty when combat occurs in an urban area. Secondly, call of duty was pretty much designed for it. There's no real objectives, no reason to push or pull. You simply existed in urban combat with a rifle, why wouldn't you just hold an angle. Having played arma3 since its release, there's time when you're gonna be holding an angle for 15 minutes, and there's times when you'll be clearing buildings, pushing through the environment, or disengaging. Hell, most modern combat for decades has been to keep your head down and wait for air/fire support.

There are so many things that this video didn't cover that shows really how bad this guy is like never taking any responsibility. Clearly they are not part of it because of the length of the video would be more than one hour.. Which already exists and is the "down the rabbit hole" video

I mean I understand asmonds opinion on who’s better Bruce lee or chuck, asmond is a person that believes in a past record that is visual and has actual backup, while Bruce lee was mainly a movie star. he was trained by ip man one of the greatest martial artists ever, but he never went up against a lot of the stronger fighters of the time so there is no proof who would’ve won

On Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris: Very important would have been the weight classes and height / reach. Also BL did not want to fight under the restricted rules of Karate. Which then leaves the questions under which rules Asmon thought they would fight. On the "Actor" argument: CN was also an Actor later on. Why bring this up? BL underwent multiple trainings in different fighting styles and famously created his own style. BL did insane training every day. His style was fast and adaptive. It would not have been as clean cut as Asmon argues. Chuck might also never claim to have won over Bruce. Chuck trained under Bruce. Since Bruce was Chuck Norris' "sifu" (teacher) and Chuck had outmost respect for Bruce and it was Bruce who gave the biggest push to Chucks overall career with offering CN the role in "Way of the Tiger" this is out of question. Both are/were great people, but Bruce Lee is a Legend. Oh and by the way its more "eep mahn" not I P man.
