fyi, what's funny is that they literally said they killed over 4000 bots.. think about that for a moment. They had that many bots just lined up.. the game literally fyi has more bots than actual players at any given time..

@@syntheziz3120 I got back into the game a year ago (quit after a couple of months), and i spent one saturday about 10 hours at bank just flipping items, in one session. This was on a fresh members account that i made for that purpose, and Blizzard banned the account after only one day lol. Never used any third party software or anything else for that matter. Perma banned, no additional explanation, no way to contact customer support. So even though these anti bot systems clean up 99% of botters, they also swing and miss

So I think they just need to ban most of them and save some small amount on separate servers for botbusting show

@@SirTipsi back in 2018 it was $1.15 to buy and about $.90-95 ish selling. If doing privately. Sure, bigger gold selling companies would sell a bit cheaper. But you still would have to cough up about $.80-.90 for 1m in 2018. And most people would rather buy from a "private person" than the gold selling sites, since there was A LOT of scamming going on from those sites. It was actually less risky to go on a specific site that you probably know off and find a top rated person and buy from. Thats even the case if you want a fire cape, infernal cape or even someone to train your account. Its still more secure to find those people than actually go on the selling sites.

They should give the bots compensation in the form of the tutorial island starting items and then erase all skills to level 1 and tell them to try again. Or just erase the accounts entirely, then they would double their monthly revenue for new accounts because the previous one would overlap monthly payments with the new one.

There are bots in osrs that have waaaayyyy more than 3 grand. In runsescape 3 there was a recent dupe glitch where people have more or less gotten away with about $100,000

The difference here is Jagex, is a gaming company that has ALWAYS, since inception, been all for its community. Activision Bllizzard nowadays is the definitive antithesis to Jagex. It's quite sad, at least I still have Project 1999(classic Everquest) and private servers for Vanilla/TBC/WOTLK.

Back in 2008 i was a GM on a vanilla private server it was patch 1.9.2, all i do is checking who list and port around hackers & botters as an invisible rabbit, check them out and deliver justice, we had a prison full of snakes made for punishment, you insta port there for snakes to feed on you and you keep ressing to get eaten every time till the penalty time is over, i was allowed to choose the sentence time as i wish and i was ruthless 9999 days gl with that

Blizz copied Jagex with the bonds in runescape (wow tokens), then they copied their move with an archived version of the preferred game Classic WoW (osrs launch), there are a lot more decisions I wish they would steal from Jagex, even turning classic into a form of osrs in which they create new content for classic, new raid tiers etc with a poll system 80% vote for pass very similar to osrs polls.

Jagex Mods and employees play the game, to the point where some mods in the past have been accused of helping certain osrs clans with deadman mode or w.e. Compare that to blizz employees and higherups and you will see that hardly any of them are still playing classic if they ever did at all. They are just slapping down the bare minimum in fixes, and are just changing things in a way that makes them a quick return on investment at the detriment to the game because they dont care at all. I feel like they almost want people to get bored of classic and go back to live servers so they never really have to address bots.

Even though they do a fair bit of bot busting, the problem is still there. Every world is overrun with bots. From spamming gold selling websites to scamming bots, they're on every world in every major location. It's a losing battle at this point. But I still love the game.

Sad truth is osrs is bottled to death as of today still. Idk why they can't employ a couple of people to do this daily to help secure a future. Ik osrs was bottled heavily since the mobile game was released. Rs3 is almost has a complete mobile launch and to think this could be Rs3 future.... Rs3 has maybe 1 percent of the bots osrs but I've seen an increase already with a few g. E advertising bots already since the ios beta release.

unfortunately jagex's account recovery system is so flawed a lot of those accounts botting were likely stolen through the password recovery system (which has been abused to hack many high-profile players in the past) and those banned accounts will not get to appeal for years, probably. My old account which was stolen and used for a runecraft bot in 2015 was only recently unbanned after multiple appeal attempts over the years.
