I have turned off mid-roll ads (these are the ads that pop up in the middle of videos and help earn money for creators)- if you appreciate this and want to financially support my time and effort please consider hitting the “thanks” ❤ button above.

Would love to see you do some basic computer/device tutorials! Explaining things in great detail and step-by-step stuff is top tier ASMR for me 😊

Love the nostalgia! We had the original Atari with the game cartridges and a Commodore 64. I remember the games for the Commodore were on cassettes and took forever to load. Thanks for these great videos.

Wait, you saying cassette has brought up a lost memory - I remember that too! Maybe it was the Commodore Vic 20 used cassettes. It seems crazy a cassette could hold enough info. Interesting. Thanks for the comment!

@@NofrillsasmrYes! It was a tape recorder type device, I think called a datasette. I seem to remember it took 15-20 minutes to load up games on that device. 😊

Datasette - that's it! I can't wait to talk to my brother about this - he loves talking ancient computer talk.

I thought it sounded familiar - I wonder if we had this one too and I just can't quite remember it. I may have to go look it up to see images. Thanks for the comment!!

I played a few text-adventure games including Zork I or II-I can't remember. I played 'Deadline,' 'The Witness,' and a vampire game I think was called 'Dracula.'

Hi Linda, I feel super spoiled with the daily uploads and appreciate your no frills approach!!! Your voice is great for ASMR and it's obvious you're having fun with this. Hope ASMR continues to be fun for you and I'm excited to listen every night to your uploads! A suggestion: could you do a video on what goes into a wedding? A few of my friends are getting married and I have no idea what to expect. Bridal shower? Bachelor party? Reception? Thanks in advance (:

Wait, that’s a great idea! I’m getting together with my sister who’s planning her second wedding. It will be a few weeks, but I’ll post something after that! Great idea, thanks!

Myst was so therapeutic when I was like 6! My dad always loaded up games for me to play and it was so calming! I love it so much I have a PC copy still on my bookshelf haha. Omg the cheat sounds horrific but funny developer design! If you are interested, there's a Switch Remaster. This was a fun watch, thank you!

I didn't know if people would be familiar with Myst. I had no idea they made a Switch Remaster of it. I wonder if it's too slow for today's audience, it required a lot of patience, as I recall. Thanks so much for the comment!

@@Nofrillsasmr it's still a cult following I've been finding out! I looked up the company, and they even have an online game with the world! Thank you for talking about it :)

Some more nostalgia! My brother had won a C. Vic 20 in a contest. I got a C64 in 1983. I first used a cassette-interface to load and save programs and files on a tape recorder. I bought a disk drive and a printer for it eventually. Played many games too. After my brother got a C64, he typed in a few programs published in "Compute's Gazette," magazine, including a word processor called 'Speed Script.' When I started using it, it revolutionized my typing and writing. Amazing to be able to type something, correct errors and then be able to print out many copies. Also, both machines, and maybe the C. 128 too, had cartridge slots. My brother and I both had a few game cartridges, though we mostly bought software on 5 1/4 floppies.

This was about the time I became aware of computers, I'd played on the arcades for the first time and my Cousin had a Amstrad CPC464, I wanted a Atari but they were sold out everywhere and ended up with Sinclair ZX Spectrum, consoles were not a thing here for years as micro computers ruled the land.

I forgot to mention that I read Atari was an American company that used a name to sound like they came from Japan - funny. Thanks for the comment and thank you for watching!

Linda, pleeeease watch the series Halt and Catch Fire. It was on AMC, and it’s all about tech in the 80s (through the early 90s). It’s so good. This was such an interesting video!
