I always forget that there's planets in the sky visible to the naked eye. Like the other day when I was looking up at a really bright star only to find out it was Jupiter! Then I started to have an existential crisis thinking about the vastness of space and went back inside lol.

Yes! I hear you on the existential crises part!! lol!

I have a crappy $50 telescope and I can just baaarely make out the bands on Jupiter. Venus is super bright, but Venus doesn't look like anything but a cue ball lol

"You heard about Pluto? It's messed up, right?" - Gus. Also, when I was a kid, the mnemonic device for remembering the order of the planets was: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. I guess no pizza now...

3:34 This is a common misconception, all the stars we can see individually in the sky are within our own galaxy, which is only 100,000 light years across. Basically all the stars you can see are definitely still burning, with only a few excpetions. Betelgeuse, for example, is getting close to exploding, but we don't know how close so it could have already gone or it could be another 1000 years. Now, when you look at Hubble photos of distant galaxies, many of the stars in those galaxies are probably gone by now, especially the bigger ones. But any star you can see with your eyes are all pretty close, relatively speaking, and still very much alive! (except maybe Betelgeuse)

Hey Linda, thanks so much for such frequent videos! I fall asleep to these loads - could I please humbly request you consider using a black tablecloth or something similar? Would be great to have a darker background to reduce a lot of the white light. Thanks again!

It is indeed true that when you look at a star, you are seeing what it looked like hundreds or thousands of years ago! Thank you for covering space 😁

Yes that’s exactly how I feel about the universe and my insignificance. It’s a comforting feeling that a lot of things I stress about don’t really matter in the scheme of things. Thinking about the universe makes my brain hit a brick wall and then it stops thinking.

It's generally believed that there is no "outside" of the universe, and if you could somehow go far enough, you'd either end up back where you started, or possibly it just goes on forever. An analogy I've seen is ants standing on an inflating balloon, every ant sees the other ants getting farther apart as the balloon gets bigger, while the **surface** of the balloon they're on has no center, and no edges.

I could never get my head around that, what is beyond space?, Nothing! But there has to be something but then again can things go on for infinite!! It fries the brain 🧠 just thinking about it.😂😂😂🤯

Each planet rules a zodiac sign. There are certain planets that rules more than one zodiac sign. You have a strong mercury. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. Mercury rules speaking writing travel and other intresting topics through the houses the he owns in the zodical wheel. Your awesome and i really like your vids!! ❤️

The mnemonic device that we used to remember the order of the planets back when I was in school (when Pluto was still a planet) was: My (Mercury) Very (Venus) Efficient (Earth) Mother (Mars) Just (Jupiter) Sewed (Saturn) Us (Uranus) New (Neptune) Pants (Pluto)
