I live in the US and there are thousands of flamingos around where i live.. they honk and eat bread, and strut around with their long necks and swim around in ponds and fly in V formation every spring and autumn.. im colorblind though so they look grey to me instead of pink :( My friends and family always tell me "No Jack, those are geese!!", but i know theyre just trying to trick me ahaha
@butteredtoast17503 жыл бұрын
Are you red/green colorblind?
@TheWonderfulDavidofOz3 жыл бұрын
@@butteredtoast1750 no, they're pink flamingo colour blind.
@3cch1tt3b4n33 жыл бұрын
Weird question but does everything look grey to you or do you see some other colors? Not really educated on how color blindness works...
@greenrice50993 жыл бұрын
@@3cch1tt3b4n3 my friend who is colour blind has told me of 3 kinds. There might be more. There is mixing up red and green which is self explanatory, then there is the king my mate has which I don’t know too much about but colours are very mixed up and colours that are alike appear exactly the same (like blue and purple) and all of his reds and oranges are grey for him. Then there is complete colour blindness where you don’t see colour. But there are glasses which you can buy which helps them see colours which is really cool

Re: beak vs bill vs rostrum, at least colloquially, people are more likely to use "beak" when it's pointy (like most birds), and "bill" when it's flat or rounded (like ducks). I've never heard "rostrum", so I'd guess it's a technical term.

I had the same reaction to the "Colorado means red?!?". Apparently, in Spanish it also means to blush or to get sunburnt. As the skin gets coloured red, colorado became red by association. "El hecho de que en la lengua romance el adjetivo se aplicara al rostro o la piel de las personas cuando suben de color, bien por vergüenza o por haber tomado el sol, etc., dado que esta subida de color tiende al rojo, ha hecho que popularmente exista una acepción de colorado como sinónimo práctico de rojo." - Etimologias de Chile

I really like these kinds of videos, they're very relaxing. I would love to see something like this, the whole wikipedia ramble, but about the different extinction events throughout the history of the Earth. It's quite an interesting topic and has lots of information. Or maybe something about the general history of the Earth, something more to do with the geolology. It's very specific, but I find this stuff really interesting.😅

Fun fact about Colorado, its one reason the US state Colorado is named that! Lots of the red colored rocks like garden of the gods and the semi-common red mud and sort in certain areas. Certainly not present everywhere in Colorado, but more than general. This was an amazing video. Would love more Wikipedia rabbit hoke videos like this!

Title made it seem like you were drawing Flamingos for an hour with some wikipedia rambles spreadout between each one... I knew not to expect that as I watched the one where you explained why you can't just draw with that marker for too long, but you might want to switch the title around just a little bit, such as "ASMR Wikipedia Ramble + Bonus Flamingo Drawing"... Don't want anybody getting confused with it.
