they sound different based on where the switches are placed on the keyboard, stuff such as the case material, switches, keycaps, whats under the board and many other things can affect the sound. if you put some foam (known as foam modding) under the PCB (what you said looked intimidating) the switches should sound a lot more uniform.

Absolutely loved the last one. Could listen that sound for hours. Idk if you will ever read this but, I have a video suggestion. My no.1 fave video that you ever filmed is the one where you style your friends hair (you blowdry it and straighten it etc.). I cant say how many times I've watched that one. It's like pure gold to me, but I know you never did anything simillar to it again, where you do someones hair, especially the straightening sounds omg. I love keyboard sounds! I remember when I was young, before I knew what asmr was, every time I heard people typing (especially the clicking at checkouts or doctor appointments) I found myself getting sleepy and never knew why! I would say it was my first unintentional experience of asmr.

19:50 you are referring to "spring ping" the springs in the switches jump back you can use foam (foam modding) and put it inside of the keyboard to reduce the sound and you can also lube your switches (the springs inside of the switch to be exact)

25:56 One reason the switches sound different is because of the amount of lube that the switches are lubed. A recommendation for switches is glorious pandas or banana splits. And if you’re going to lube your own switches, you can never overdue it!

gibi!! the end you use to pull out the keycaps is actually the switch puller end 😂 the keycap puller side is the one with the two wire rectangle things, and the little claw is for pulling out switches. hope that helps!!

I love keyboard asmr❤ I have my third mechanical keyboard already and i am really happy with it. When you were wondering, who manufactured the brown switches, i listened closely, and couldn‘t tell, if it was cherry or kalih. But after some research i found out, that there are many new switch manufactures since i investigated last (cherry, razer, and kalih) These are the Gateron G Pro Brown. Gateron seems be be almost identical to cherry in terms of lifespan, and absolutely identical in terms of actuation force and travel distance. I hope you do more with keyboards❤

ngl, I full on screamed at 23:09. The tool you're using is a both a keycap & switch puller. The wire side is for keycaps (both the flat ends of the wire prongs go under the keycap and you pull upwards). The pinchy-pinchy side is for pulling out switches on exclusively hotswap keyboards. Every switch has tabs in the north and south position, you firmly pinch both tabs at the same with the tool and pull upwards to remove the switch from the sockets. Can't wait to see you make your own custom keyboard. Welcome to the rabbit hole!

I love keyboard building videos, even when they're not specifically made to be ASMR they often end up having that effect anyway! Keyboards just seem to be one of those perfect ASMR items all around. That last keyboard is AMAZING, you totally saved the best for last. I also like how its keycaps sound when you're running your hand across them. I personally like top-down/birds-eye-view typing videos more than side-view ones like this, seeing the fingers find the keys from above is similar to tracing for me, especially if it's done slowly and deliberately. Tracing a finger across the keycaps to spell out things without actually typing is also a great one. As a newbie keyboard enthusiast myself, it's fun to see you get into it too! It's fascinating stuff and gets you to really listen to subtleties you might've never noticed before. Looking forward to more keyboard stuff from you! ❤
