Before CV19 I was taking a train to/from work each day in Utah... My commute via train is 15 min each way where the drive is 30 min so works out to be quite efficient, more cost effective, and more eco friendly. I do miss the daily commute. There also still remains an active coal fired train line from Durango -> Silverton Colorado... If you are ever visiting Western CO I would highly recommend a ride and stopping by the zip line tours as well (soaring tree top adventures). Ouray, Telluride, and the Cliff Palace in Mesa Verde should also be on your itenerary.

I actually lived by the 3rd railroad tunnel constructed in America. Black rock tunnel in Phoenixville PA. It goes right under a graveyard, used to joke a skeleton was hanging out of the ceiling in the middle of the tunnel.
