Thank you for this! I have an aero M5E1 .308 that I’m intimidated to disassemble, it’s my first gun I’ve ever bought. This is super useful!

I wouldn't say this is ASMR due to some noises that interrupts the relaxation but gotta say you do a nice job, keep it up.

I'm working on it. Thank you for the feedback 🍻

Now I did. Pretty much just a beefy ar15. But nah I just got a regular black 20inch aero cmv. I'm actually putting it all together, like I bought the seperate pieces because I sure as hell ain't finding a complete one. All aero though, with a nickel bcg. Aero had all the parts in stock they just didn't have handguards or bcgs.

Right on! I hope you enjoy it, I certainly have! Too bad for the unfortunate ammo situation, but it'll slowly return to reasonable supply and hopefully affordable prices.

Is it not considered standard practice to remove an optic before taking it apart? I don't currently own a firearm, but in my head I'm thinking a lot of glass is more expensive than the rifle - besides aesthetics, any reason you didn't take the scope off and set it aside first?
@FMJRN3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the firearm design. For this, the optic mount is not quick detach- it has been torqued down to manufacturer specifications and thread locker has been applied. Thanks for watching! 👍
@whitexeno2 жыл бұрын
you would lose your zero, so no you would not normally want to remove any optic to just clean a firearm.

What oil and lube do you use? And would an all-in-one, like Breakfree CLP or Lucas extreme duty CLP be fine for everything?
@FMJRN2 жыл бұрын
Any reputable CLP is probably fine for most maintenance. I use Breakfree CLP for general cleaning/lube/rust protection. Cleaning my M1 has got me into the habit of working a little dab of Lubriplate 130 grease into any high friction points, though it's probably not necessary for most of my firearms. 👍

Did you clean or lube the barrel before you first shot it? I have the 18” fluted SS in .308 and haven’t used it just yet. Curious if the barrel needs anything done before first firing, did you do anything to break it in? First rifle - thanks 👍🏾
@FMJRN3 жыл бұрын
Congrats and great choice! I have to admit, I'm no expert on breaking in new firearms, as most of mine are surplus. I just lubed (barrel and receiver/components) and bore snaked before firing. Then I just took it slow on range day. If you read up on the barrel break-in processes that some people adopt, it can get pretty in-depth and tedious. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@TRIKushbeachside3 жыл бұрын
@@FMJRN thank you, that is exactly what I ran into online. It seems like there’s about 100 different ways and most of them are tedious. It wouldn’t be a big deal if I could just shoot in my backyard but I’m not sure cleaning out my barrel every other shot is plausible at my indoor range lol. Quick question, I use ballistol for my glock would that be fine to use as a cleaner/lube for my rifle?

My dad passed away, I'd like to clean his gun... Could you do a talk through version of this? 🤔
@FMJRN3 жыл бұрын
I'm very sorry about your father. Check out my AR15 disassembly and cleaning video with the captions turned on for a written tutorial. Please ensure it is completely unloaded: the magazine removed and the chamber empty. (Unfortunately, KZbin has deemed my content as too violent, and has issued me a channel warning. I'm afraid if I upload any more videos, they'll get flagged and begin the process to remove my channel completely.)

@@FMJRN thanks. Awesome build you have there. Do you like shooting with that buttstock? I was looking at the magpul prs one too. I have my stripped aero precision m5 308 lower on its way now :)
