Absolutely loved this video. First of all very relaxing but second I really liked the sections about the native and indigenous people. Mostly because I’m native myself and I’d like to give my two cents. (No offence to you or who made this book this is just small corrections and story’s from what I remember in no particular order) 1: the Thunder spirit is said to live in the Niagara Falls. It’s a bit complicated but it’s a super natural human who can transform into a bird like spirit that can control the weather. Basically the Thunderbird but because of the language it’s described differently. 2: the Métis is kinda pronounced may-tea. The Métis are a distinct Indigenous people with both First Nations and Euro-Settler ancestry. They arose out of the fur trade, in the late 1700s, in the interior of west-central North America as the children of First Nations women and Euro-Canadian/European fur trade employees. Its caused controversy as “technically” the only real Métis are from the red river. It’s not really my place to talk about “half-bloods” and whatever because I’m not from those areas but it’s just something I thought would be interesting to mention. 3: it’s spelled Ojibwe (I don’t know why it’s spelled Ojibway in the book) and is more so pronounced O-jib-way (not O-jeb-way) 4: the Tsimshian nation should be pronounced Shim-she-an (the book says Sim-she-an for some reason) 5: I actually don’t know about Iroquois? Personally i was taught it was like ear-wa-kwai. Don’t worry I’m not attacking you personally. A lot of the stuff shared was accurate and I absolutely appreciated it. (I even learned about about natives myself) Sometimes English can be weird. I also learned some stuff about my country as well. (Bonus) The name “Canada” likely comes from the Huron-Iroquois word “kanata,” meaning “village” or “settlement.” In 1535, two Aboriginal youths told French explorer Jacques Cartier about the route to kanata; they were actually referring to the village of Stadacona, the site of the present-day City of Québec. Kraft-dinner is more like a brand, a company. than what we call mac-n-cheese. The Stanley Cup for the NHL was created by Fredrick Stanley. Stanley park in Vancouver BC was also named after him. Ironically the Vancouver Canucks have never won the Stanley cup 😂 Once again I absolutely loved this video and I hope to hear more relaxing videos like it
