I'm writing a novel right now too (we're on a similar schedule) and very much related to all this! I'm also a fan of Sanderson, I used to listen to every episode of his podcast Writing Excuses for writing advice

LMAO my jaw dropped when you said you liked the edge chronicles. I loved that series as a little kid and this is the first I have heard someone mention it among people I know who read. I find it very comparable to a number of personal interests I have and relate with you. I especially relate to your mention of WOW personally my vice is old school runescape and it really does block my path towards actualizing my goals and progressing in my hobbies/interests.
