I wouldn't even know where to start with video games. I love so many genres - Adventure, RPG, shooters, stealth, ol' school point and click, puzzle. I have played some Final Fantasy games and enjoyed them immensely, but I think here in the States, it's hard to top the popularity of the Elder Scrolls RPG's (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim). The Witcher games are popular RPG's here too. Many more I could mention, but I don't want to start making you a list. haha. I can enjoy the crazy violence found in the Grand Theft Auto games, as well as enjoy challenging my brain with the Portal games which I think are pure genius. Much like yourself, I could probably talk for days about video games. :) The Ace Attorney games you mentioned sound really interesting and if possible I would like to give them a try. If you like them, you might want to try LA Noire where you play a Los Angeles cop/later detective in the 1950's. You have to solve crimes, investigate, interrogate suspects and the possibility to mess up and convict an innocent person, or let a guilty person go free really exists if you don't follow the clues carefully

your brothers really introduced you to some wonderful games. I love final fantasy! 9 is my favorite, and part of the reason is because the soundtrack is so phenomenal. Nobuo really is such a treasure. (fun fact, he has said that 9 is also his personal favorite)

You really went above and beyond to be able to film this for us and it is definitely appreciated. I think we have very similar taste in games as I grew up on Final Fantasy and Ghost of Tsushima was my favourite game of last year. I would say FF7 is my favourite Final Fantasy and maybe still my favourite game overall to this day. I am just finishing the remake and having mixed emotions about it. The direction that Square has gone overall in the past decade hasn't been to my liking to be honest. But we'll always have the classics. Thanks so much for this relaxing chat. :)

I totally understand how you feel about Square Enix these days! I’m personally kinda ok with the plot alterations for the remake, but more disappointed at how they are trying to take advantage, and, if I dare to say, exploit us fans. The remake of the remake, aka “Intergrade” is a good example😭

@@MelissadoesASMR I do think there is an element of exploiting the love people have for those characters and their journey from the original ff7. I try not to be too cynical about it and was willing to give the remake a chance but overall I felt that the game didn't respect my intelligence whereas ironically I felt as a kid playing the original that it was a more mature game despite the much less advanced graphics. I suppose the intergrade version is made to convince people to buy PS5's. 🙄😋

Had a similar experience w/ games; I'm the youngest of 4 and was born with a Super Nintendo already present, and it quickly became a hallmark of my formative years (and today) First RPG was Super Mario RPG, and first and favorite Final Fantasy is IV. I've played them all, save for the MMO's, just like you. Great tastes mate.

I think Castlevania: Symphony of the Night stands as my favorite game of all time still. The art was amazing, the gameplay was very engaging and Michiru Yamane's soundtrack is one of the greatest ever.

My sister had the same background with two older brothers (7, 9 yrs older). shes played last of us before me which warms my heart. since you like the classic ffs, were you able to play the bravely default series? i really loved the first one, altho i skipped the sequels.

Loved Black Mages ever since). Ever heard the soundtrack for Wizardry V (FM Towns)? 😀 Ever tried tabletop rpgs? :) I know of some japanese rpgs through a friend of mine and I'm a huge fan of Lodoss. 🧙‍♂️🧚‍♀️🧝‍♂️

@@MelissadoesASMR My best recommendation is watch or listen to actual plays; it's like playing role-playing games as a podcast or stream. Want to find out more in-depth about the hobby: Look around KZbin for rpg channels! My faves are Questing Beast(For OSR stuff), The Real John Wick (My favorite game designer) & Web DM(For Dnd 5e stuff). There a lot of rpgs out there and when choosing your first I would suggest to you think thoroughly of what you want to get out of it. Is it choosing a character class and fighting monsters; D&D is a standard choice. Want to play as monsters or superpowerful beings: Go for White Wolf/Onyx Path games like Vampire: The Masquerade or Exalted. Want to play more games with narrative mechanics: Fate Core is a good choice. Want to play game of horror: I recommend Call of Cthulhu, Kult and Dread. Want to play a game like 'Stranger Things': Tales from the Loop I wholeheartly recommend. I hope this will help you finding out more of the Tabletop RPG hobby! 😀

You should try FF14. I was also a little sceptic of it since it’s a MMORPG but it’s a lot of fun and it’s so huge with so much to do. The story is a little boring in the beginning but it gets really good towards the end of the base game (A realm reborn) and gets even better with each expansion. My favorite FF-games are otherwise 6, 9, 12 and Tactics. I also love the Ace Attorney games. ❤️ I’m so happy that they will release english versions of the two 3ds-games where you play as Phoenix’s ancestor.

I'm playing FF8 remaster right now! Many years ago, I was onion knight, resistance then, britzball player :P Did you play "Shadow of the Colossus(ワンダと巨像)"? It's really painful story but it's worth playing once I think. I love "EarthBound (Mother)" series. Especially, "beginning(Mother1) was really nice! Please play them if you have a chance. 囁き声で癒やされました〜

FFはX-2までやりましたが本当に音楽が素晴らしいですよね　自分が一番好きなFFは3、好きな楽曲も「悠久の風」と「最後の死闘（くらやみのくも戦）」ですが3はいろんな理由からリメイクがされにくいのが残念です　いつかFF1～6を3Dでリメイクしてほしいです
