I guess you know you've been a long time TingTing viewer when you already know her name is apple, and you also know the story as to how she picked that name. Her English teacher told everyone in the class to pick an English name that they liked, and TingTing liked apples, so she chose that name. She told this story in one of her videos like 4 or 5 years ago.

It's interesting that TingTing talked about Harbin, which is also called the Ice city. Personally, as a russian, this city is closest to me in China, I really want to visit there. It was a fishing settlement when russian settlers arrived there and its name is translated as “a place for drying fishing nets.” It was used to make a railway station on the railway under construction. For a long time this city was Russian-Chinese, as a symbol of cooperation between our countries. It’s a pity that at some point our relationship was damaged. Now it is a large thriving industrial and cultural center. Students from many countries study there, including Russia. I hope it will regain the historical status of our friendship and cooperation. 🤝

This is a brilliant idea! Mixing asmr with learning. I've been teaching myself Japanese which consists of a syllabary of characters that are, for the most part, derived from Chinese characters. Particularly Kanji. I see many similarities between the two languages. You are a wonderful teacher, JessicApple-sensei. 😉 I enjoy listening to your interesting and fun stories. You speak English fluently and have a calmingly beautiful voice. *whispers* Also, I tried bubble milk tea for the first time this past summer and it was very delicious. I currently study Japanese as my minor in university. Chinese has always been interesting to me but I find it to be difficult, so I went with Japanese. I am already a year and a half into my studies and the characters are super fascinating to me. Like the one for people. 人 has many different pronunciations but the Chinese sound of the word in Japanese is still different despite them using the Chinese sounds. I don’t really know how to explain it well.😅

Ting Ting, Harbin comes from the Polish language. I'm serious. A small village called Manchu in 1898 grew into the modern city of Harbin. Polish engineer Adam Szydlowski drew plans for the city following the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway, which the Russian Empire had financed. The Russians selected Harbin as the base of their administration over this railway and the Chinese Eastern Railway Zone. I am pretty reluctant about Russia, but I love China. So far my favorite city is Suzhou, but I am going to visit Kanton and the whole neighborhood in October.
