I don't have chronic pain but for a few months I delt with some really bad leg and back pain that progressively got worse and worse as time went on. (My doctor told me it was just sciatica until eventually, I was in so much pain I couldn't get out of bed. One er trip, a few hours of waiting, and an mri later and I found out it was a herniated disk.) And there was a while where I was using a cane to help me get around with a little less pain. One day I had to go to the mall to get a few things and I got so many weird looks. Like, I’m in pain I don't need your stares and gross looks. I wish people would just get that not just old people and very visible problems need to use movement aids.

I made ot a reward when I had like 5 top tier patreon members and I get it's now at a point that its kinda ridiculous to still be reading them 😅 but I've been too worried about taking away a reward people have paid for to do it, I think what makes more sense is just make a new higher tier that has name read aloud as a reward but idk what else to offer for a new higher tier

This could not have come at a better time Prince, my lower back and legs are in agonizing pain today! (To the point I'm having to use my cane to get around my own house.) Much obliged! Edit: Holy, that whole segment about Silk and his cane hit home, as thats basically my situation exactly. Cept mine is exacerbated by the fact I look waaaayyy younger than I actually am. So when I go out and about with my cane, I get all manner of stares and glares. No comments as of yet, but I'm sure those'll come soon. (I think what also doesnt help is that my cane is an old wooden one, that looks very reminisecnt of the cane the old dude Carl uses in Up.) Alas, unlike Silk, I have not had any help or support from family, like he gets from Satin. :( Edit 2: God I wish I had someone who cared about me and helped me like Satin, it seems so wonderful 😭.

Thank you so much! That rant was very much inspired by own experiences of the looks I get whenever my pain's bad enough that I need to use my cane when outside. It sucks to have something that helps you, and then you feel like you can't use it without feeling uncomfortable because of how other people react. I hope you have nothing but good experiences using your cane and that any stinky looks from others doesn't stop you from using it when you need it (this is advice I need to learn), and that in the future you'll manage to find people who will support and help you.

@dervampireprince Ahhh, I see, it makes sense why it felt so realistic then! And luckily, as of yet the stares haven't effected me other than being kind of annoying, aside from the one kid that said he was gonna trip me when he thought I wasn't listening. (Luckily he never actually tried, but still. The kid was like barely 10 too, so it was a pretty wild thing to hear. Makes me wonder about his parents tbh.) I think the worst part is the explanation everytime someone asks. The amount of times I've had people ask if I sprained my ankle is wild. (Technically I did, but it happened several years ago.) It's really nice to know I'm not alone in this sucky situation though! And maybe someday people will keep their judgement and stares to themselves 🫠

oh thank you!, though Silk has always used a cane since the first audio of him, it's cropped out on the KZbin thumbnails because of how zoomed in they are but the full art with the cane has always been up elsewhere and the stickers of him on my Etsy have always included his cane

The only reason I’m asking is because I do at times image different scenarios with your ocs and some of mine. But, I can’t play it out or anything cause I don’t have enough information about their personality to work with.
