I also have issues with microfiber cloths. I wash my hands about 25 to 35 times a day at work and my hands are usually dry making the cloth catch every little split and dry patch. It almost as bad as having mud dry on my hands and then touching dry newspaper. That's worse than fingernails on a chalk board.

About a year and a half ago, In the middle of a seminar breakout group, a fellow attendee started cleaning my laptop right there on the spot. For whatever reason, she had all the supplies in her purse which suggests it was more an OCD thing - She even cleaned another attendee's laptop after mine. Sure my laptop needed a little touch-up but it was hardly ultimately responsible for the pandemic. In any case, I left class that day with a clean screen and keyboard.
