Ha! Jumping on the ASMR bandwagon. I actually find these type of videos relaxing, I have dozed off a few times on my sofa listening to shoe shine videos from Jason Dornstar, he also has a very soothing voice. Like your cleaning technique Tiek. By the way, those boots look awesome, love the leather.

That's nice leather. I pretty much never use saddle soap. I tend to remove the mud using a hose in the five days of good weather we get in the summer (or if very muddy) and the rest of the year rinse the mud off in the sink (I know, I know...) If necessary I'll use a little dish soap/washing up liquid to remove stains with a quick wipe over like you use saddle soap. Only rarely, as running water and a cloth is normally sufficient. I also have a blunt hook knife that is well over a century old that I use to clean out Dainite studs or commando sole grooves and can also be used to gently scrape a welt. Sadly it's the nearest thing I have to a family heirloom. I only rarely condition boots now though I used to be more enthusiastic. Every few washes which is a long time given my boot collection.

Nice work. I like to use a soft brush like the one you used to brush off the table to get things started so I don't scratch the leather. I live in a hot climate (South Carolina, USA), so once I get my boots cleaned - usually just a damp cloth, I let them sit for about 30 minutes, to dry and heat up, oil them, let them sit an hour or so and brush them with a horsehair brush. The heat here really lets the oils soak in the leather. I should be better about doing the lower parts of the boot - your video reminded me to do that. Thanks.

Not bad, did you clean/wipe off the soles before you stared the video? Looks good, that RM Williams conditioner leaves a nice look. Only thing missing in this video background information on the history of parkhurst and how it’s moved its production to Spain/Portugal. 😂😂😂

@@Brajin1 hahahaha. No, not really, just brushed them as you saw. The boots are brand new and their first wear was to dig a big hole in the garden to plant a tree, in a wet spring day!

Wiping off the soap with a dry towel doesn’t leave a lot of residue? Why not damp it first?

Why let the mud dry like that on the boot and not rinse it off in the first place before cleaning?.... oh, it's to make a fake asmr video lol

Saddle soap isn't like regular detergent. It can be wiped off just like that. Watch any shoe shine video. That's how it's done. You don't let the leather soak up the saddle soap. You brush it on, and you wipe it off in 30s. Then let the leather dry. After which, you recondition the leather. There isn't a slippery soapy texture to the leather after it dries, neither is there visible or discernible dry residue on it.

Judging by the elaborate setup and mud on the bottom of the sole like you weren't even walking on them, I'm going to guess you just dipped them in mud and let them dry to make an asmr video lol i mean, you really didn't think to wipe or rinse them off AT ALL before letting that mud dry like that on the leather like that before cleaning them?

Start of the video and already first mistake (putting dirty boots on the wood table). I stopped watching after 1 minute when you made another mistake (using washing liquid).
@RaptureOnCloudNo.92 ай бұрын
not really mistakes per se, he may wanna just sweep the gunk off the floor later. and he did not mention the material of the laces, those laces do not look like leather ones, so washing liquid is fine.
@ryanpiyo982 ай бұрын
None of those things are mistakes. It's not your table, so what on earth are you complaining about?
