The first "proof" messes up when you basically divide by zero in line 4. Dividing by zero is undefined so any equalities after that step doesn't matter.

Okay here’s my crack at this, first off we know that a=b and that no matter what possible value is given, a-b=0. In line for he has a-b appear twice and decides both sides by it in an attempt to cancel them out. This is an unrefined value and thus renders the rest of the equalities irrelevant to the problem and thus anything following would be incorrect

I like this explanation for what 0! represents: n! is equal to the number of distinct permutations for n objects (that is, different ways to arrange n objects in, say, a line), for example there are 3!=6 different ways to place 3 objects side-by-side. It follows that 1!=1, because there’s one way to arrange 1 object and that 0!=1, because there’s also one way to arrange 0 objects... it’s to not do it at all!

I'm weird. 9 is my favorite number and that's how I always did my 9 multiplication in school. Most people do the "put your finger down" method. but I always had my number that multiplied by 9. So say it was 4. I'd always subtract 1 from 4 (=3) and add up to 9 (+6) So 36. Idk. ha.
@lewissmithies83024 жыл бұрын
That actually works, I thought it would stop working past 9, but it also works cause you start subtracting

About first "prove": A and B equal zero from the beginning. If it's not, you're substracting B squared from A squared in third equation, so it becomes zero. Thus, by dividing on zero in the last one, you're actually getting infinity equals infinity, not 2=1. 🙂 Took a moment to realize.
@Waiter19864 жыл бұрын
Diving by 0 makes each side undefined, not infinity but yes, it’s conceptually the same

The mistake to the first one is that on the 4th line the terms (a-b) = 0 since a=b so a-a=0. This would make both sides cancel out completely giving 0=0. Alao notice the only solution to b+b=b is 0
@orionalbeniz99454 жыл бұрын
27:19 I chose the number 'e', so it didn't work Kappa. Furthermore, you can choose *any* positive number, and if after multiplying by 9, and adding up the digits, the result has more than 1 digit, you sum the digits again. For example 86*9=774. 7+7+4=18. 1+8=9 :D

1st example 1=2, basiclly what you have done is went a really really really really really long way around and just turned the equasion upside down, so therefore 1=2 is the same as 2=1 you have to just turn the equasion.But that really does't add up...well, the real answear would be: 1=2......0=2-1.......0=1 and we can see that the equasion is wrong Btw you forgot to add 1 more zero in factorials
@Waiter19864 жыл бұрын
I can’t quite tell if that’s what your reasoning is for how he got 1 to equal 2. If not, I apologize, but if so, that is not quite correct. Many other people have pointed this out, but when you divide both sides by (a-b), this is dividing by 0, which makes each side undefined, which is what leads to such a weird answer
@ninjapanda08224 жыл бұрын
Also can’t anything equal anything if you do it properly or would it need a variable?
@kqnrqdtqqtttel17784 жыл бұрын
For one of the steps you can not cancel (a-b) because a = b, so a - b = 0. You cannot divide by 0!

@johnfei4344 жыл бұрын
No reason, that isnt the mistake. He just did it so he could make a difference of squares on the left and factor out b on the right side.
@DidoASMR4 жыл бұрын
There's no reason to it, it's just part of the trick. It doesn't affect the fact it is still the same as the line before... keep searching and you'll spot the mistake!

@@DidoASMR (line 4->5) You "cancel" stuff in the equation at the left and the right which seems legit but it's actually dividing both sides by zero which messes up the whole proof
@JakubS3 жыл бұрын
(a-b) is equal to 0 , so to get the result you divided by 0 which would be undefined therefore the proof is invalid
