You just totally get it 💕 “Warm yourself when you are cold. Feed yourself if you are hungry. You will sleep if you are tired. You will hydrate if you’re thirsty.” That just hit home for me. I can’t tell you how many times I laid in the shower, and the water got cold and I just laid there. I didn’t eat, sleep, or have the strength to get up to get some water. I completely gave up on myself. I thank you very much for making these videos and for helping not only me but hundreds of people who are suffering day to day 💕

I just realized something. Softlygaloshes has been whispering to me through my phone during so many different stages in my life. I first discovered her back when I was in college and needed help falling asleep due to anxiety, or to have some calming sounds as background noise while I studied. I continued listening to her after I graduated and moved across the country. I’m now in the 3rd state I’ve lived in since graduating and I still click on her videos - only this time I’m married and have a baby that listens with me. Long story short, thanks for accompanying me through these years😊

So, I have Aspergers, (which is basically high-functioning autism but is more complex), and I have emotions and all but, I need physical contact to help myself feel loved. So, everyday I don't have the ability to feel like I'm loved but everyone tells me they do and I know they do, but I don't physically feel like they do. Do you see what I'm saying? You are told that you are loved but you don't get to feel loved. But then I saw your video and gave it a try because I've also been considering asmr. This one gave me something that I haven't felt in easily 10 - 15 years. I am so grateful that you made this video. (Getting emotional while making this comment.) Its so fucking hard to be motivated every day when you dont feel like you're loved. I need people like you so that i have drive and feel like I have purpose. I cant thank you enough and I'm so grateful for you. I hope you have a good day and I hope for a bright future for you because I believe you have a heart of gold. Sincerely, Nick PS. You have no idea how much these videos have helped me with going through VERY hard situations. The way you said "I love myself" with such kindness and genuine love, it was inspiring and beautiful. You've shown that it really is possible. I don't have worry about being lonely now, even if I never meet anyone. Even being alone looks less certain, because you're right about life not being a science experiment. Sometimes everything looks so simple, but despair can't predict the future. Depression makes it hard to appreciate the rich complexity of life, all the opportunities that can't be shoved into a simple nihilistic model. Like you say, there are too many variables. I think this is what I need to stop being lonely and start living again. Thank you 😊

I really appreciate these sort of videos as a sort of "hug" to everyone. No need to get too far into things, but I'm often left wondering where I am in my life now and if those few shots at love and happiness that _didn't quite work out_ will be the only chances I'll really have now that I'm deep into adult life. There's always another day, though, there's a chance fortunes can turn around given time and effort, and maybe I won't have to be stuck so very far from the few _real_ people I know care about me. I also like thinking that this helps others as well, because life can be hard and helping one another out is a good thing.

At first I was really excited about this video because it sounded exactly like what I wanted...what part of me needed, to hear. But shortly after starting I realized it wasn't working and I just felt more alone. There wasn't anything wrong with your performance! You were still kind, and gentle, and I feel it's incredibly brave of you to open yourself up to the world like this, like you do in your writings. The comments section is definitely not the best place to be having this mini-breakdown but maybe this comment will be buried, or maybe you'll see it and I don't know which I'd rather but I've already decided to post it anyway. A part of me feels selfish, and shameful, and weak for spilling my guts to someone I don't know who is just working a job and trying to do it well and doesn't need someone asking for some small piece of that persona that they could think is real. It's a bit of a Catch-22 really.

I really relate. I want to "talk" to her like we were old friends. With some of her videos, with the age difference, I want to feel like the proud father, or grandfather, of someone who makes a difference in people's lives like she has mine. But everything comes out in a way people take wrong. She's been as much help to me, since I discovered her, as my therapist has. I suffered a heart attack in 2001 that for some reason changed my personality. The people around me can't understand that they are now talking to a different person, and treat me like they always have which doesn't work anymore. Rebekah didn't know the previous me. She, and other ASMRtists talk to the me that I am now. Around family and friends I am alone, around strangers, there are things to talk about, but to them it gets old fast. Alone, I feel most comfortable, choosing who I want to let in through ASMR. All I can say is bless her and all the other ones who ply this craft so well. I would have no direction without them.

@le5636 жыл бұрын
I find it interesting how people aren't getting love and satisfaction in their own life, they have to actively seek if out in videos, obviously some are here for the normal reasons of ASMR, but some are probably here because they literally have no other option but to seek it out, which is rather depressing if u think about it. It's similar to how a lot of people are so stressed out and unable to relax on their own that ASMR because as popular as it is, in the first place, numbers don't lie, there is a demand for it, what does that say about the modern world we live in? Not trying to be deep, just thought it was interesting to share

It always amaze me how much genuine empathy and compassion you and most asmr artists are able to show. For me, I started to value and practise empathy and compassion after a long period of depression and suffering. So I wonder if it's the same to you and asmr artists in general that you have been through exceptionally difficult time in the past and become a compassionate being as today?

Your videos always make me feel happy and calm, this one is no different! Thank you so much for making them! I always listen to you when I can't sleep and/or feel anxious. Even the days where I REALLY can't sleep, listening to your videos makes me calm down. You are the best asmrtist on KZbin, in my opinion!

One plus to running a temperature is that the susceptibility to chills also makes me more susceptible to ASMR. Also, you're so good at this, Becca ❤️❤️

The fact things like this exist really points to the hyperreality social/cultural collapse we are living in, and men are forced to wallow among the digital ruins for the slightest feeling of affection.
