Where has your daughter's hair become wonderfully beautiful and lovely long since I last saw a video with her 1½ years ago. You can really turn hair brushing and playing with beautiful hair into something very beautiful that is a delight to the eye to look at - it's just pampering. I still can not forget the unique and very beautiful videos you made with Emely's beautiful hair (which you had to remove) - I have often thought! Me too! I absolutely love it! For many years and still occasionally, I’d twirl my hair. Self soothing. Oh yes, she came very close to sleeping a couple of times. But I always woke her up by changing the camera or the microphone. Or maybe a train would come by or a truck would drive-by and I’d have to stop filming. 😴🚂😧😴 🛻 😬😴 🚓 🤨 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤬😩 lol 😂

Our oldest daughter (with whom I have a best friend relationship at this stage) moved 1200 miles away and took our 3-year old grandson, who we kept overnight every week since he was 1 year old. Her husband wanted to move back to his home state, and she said she wanted to give it a try. For the first year after they left, I would sometimes double over, sobbing with grief. I see them two or three times a year for a couple of weeks each time, and it's always so special, but it's just not the same as meeting for coffee on a whim, going to a movie, taking my grandson out for ice cream, etc. It's been three years, and they bought a house. I don't see them returning soon, if ever. It has gotten better, praise God, but the sadness is always there. Our grandson (he's the first grandchild) loves to visit us and to have us visit, and we get along great. He's a very sweet kid. But I grieve the loss of the close relationship we would have if he were here. Missing school performances, milestones, etc. We have other children and grandchildren here, for whom I am most grateful to God. But no child or grandchild can replace another. ~Leah

@@my2centstoo Leah, I so appreciate your candor. Your description is so applicable to me. Only, I am the one who moved away from my entire family. Talk about grief. When I realized I wasn’t going to be able to move back with my new husband, it felt like death. I lost my entire family. God has redeemed my sorrow through work. Bus children. KZbin channel. Then two daughters moved out here! News update: My daughters are moving back to California. My husband is finally ready to take me back home to my family. We are making plans. God be praised. No, not at all. My daughter is an RN. During her studies she came across a quick little session that mentioned ASMR as a possible new therapy. Can you believe that? We’re going to get on the map of sciences, possibly. But I do have a sister who will not listen to my videos because she says, “it’s so weird! it just doesn’t sound like you!!” She and I tend to get very boisterous together and I normally talk “less softly” when we are together. Otherwise, she is so proud of me and amazed. What’s funny to me, is that there is not one adult family member that watches any of my videos. My children dink around on there a little bit. But none of them actually have a love for ASMR or relate to it at all. I have one grandchild who loves it. She is fully grown and is all into it. She encouraged me to get my first microphone. The rest of my grandchildren are all into it and super proud of grandma for having a KZbin channel. But that’s the newest generation for you. They could probably teach me how to use my channel better! Well that was more information than you asked for! Ha ha.

@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction Interesting stuff! I can certainly see how ASMR could be an appropriate treatment for anxiety and other such issues. Thinking about it now, it makes sense. And that's interesting about the rest of your family. Weirdly, while I listen to all sorts of people do ASMR, I'm not sure I'd want to listen to a family member. There's a certain barrier there, for whatever reason. It's like how I listen to very few ASMRtists who are males. I just don't need a dude whispering in my ear. (The exceptions are certain themed channels, like ASMR Chess.) That's cool that your grandkids are all about it though. If KZbin had been a thing when my grandparents were still around I'd have certainly been shocked and amazed if my grandmother had a YT channel!

The same sister who will not listen to me speak in a soft-spoken voice can’t get enough of listening to me sing. Is that odd? I had to laugh when you mentioned the preference for listening to the voice of the opposite sex. I cannot stand my GPS or any instructional voice coming from my computer/phone to be female. Eww 😜 I listen to mostly male singers. But I still love female singers as well, just not as much. On the subject of family, I would very much enjoy listening to them sing or whatever. My husband is a singer and his voice is just beautiful. My brothers and my sisters have very nice voices too. My children also. 😂 Yep, I do love my family’s voices. However, in ASMR specifically, I infinitely prefer no voices at all. When I first started my channel I was not doing whispering or soft-spoken at all and hadn’t planned on it. A simple request got me started on that. Took a long time for me to hear my own voice and be used to it. Singing yes, talking no. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction Ha ha, I tried once or twice to listen to some guys do ASMR and I quickly learned that the last thing I want is some dude whispering to me, "You're a very special person! I hope you have a good dayyyy!" I'm like, "Hey, cut that s--t out! Get out of my ear, bro!" I think there's a certain intimacy when it comes to ASMR, and yeah, someone of the same gender just doesn't work for me. Like I said, the exceptions are themed channels like ASMR Chess, which is obviously a chess ASMR channel, or some channels I've run across that are history-based or there's some other educational component. Since there's a specific subject that's being tackled there it feels a little different. That's interesting that you prefer no voices for ASMR. If I am trying to get to sleep quickly, then I also prefer "no talking" vids. But if sleep is not the immediate goal then I appreciate videos where I can hear the person's voice. It definitely helps to get to know that specific ASMRtist and their personality better.
