I think the sound of the candle bothered some of us because sounds on video can sound different than if we were in the same room. But also, it may have to with the fact that people who enjoy some ASMR sounds are hypersensitive to others. I happen to be creeped out by squishy sounds like when some ASMRtists are washing someone's face or applying lotion. So, the rapid ticking sound bothered or distracted some of us who are sensitive to repetitive, static-like sounds. I love listening to you read but was too distracted by the "static."
