I literally gasped :o heh By the way, since I'm making this comment, I might as well voice my relevant thoughts since first watching the video last night (*first* meaning, I've already watched the video numerous times): that, this is, hands down, undoubtedly, the most technically precise video TD has ever released---yeah? you agree?---meticulously executed at a level I've never witnessed here on her channel. This and "Decorating OUR Christmas Tree" (a video I think many Darlings don't even know exists) are my favorites of hers---for totally different reasons, I might add. It’s *this* video, though, that displays a high-level technical precision that is notably absent from all of her other videos. Well, okay, first things first, TD's intro is certainly the crème de la crème. :) Lol. (that was a funny sentence.) I won't go into the specifics of why but seriously though, like everyone says, the intro is straight fire But back to the point The level of sonic unpredictability just, out of no where, seriously increased in this video! When you think about it, it's honestly not all that surprising; with rapidity and aggressiveness comes diversity, naturally, for many people. After all, for the first time ever, she was actually, you know, trying to produce a specific style of ASMR. And you could tell she was constantly pushing herself to up the energy, yielding spikes of intensity all throughout the video and therefore, diversity. Not sure if that was all intentional but I love the finished product. More specifically… firstly, there is a diversity in volume all throughout. Might have gone unnoticed by many viewers, but it's definitely the best thing about the video. Diversity in volume can make or break a video. Secondly, a lot of the objects she used had differing levels of intensities intrinsically, which kept things interesting. She even ordered things in a sensible way. For example, she started and ended with hands sounds so that we finished the way we started. The fork makes a less full sound, so it comes right after the super aggressive opener. And those hands sounds at the end are much less vigorous (she’s merely caressing the mic) which provides a good outro, a good transition into the less aggressive soundscape of the real world that awaits post-video. Just in general, (thirdly) each object in the video produced a slightly different sound that lent itself to variability and surprises, e.g. the vase made heavy rubbing sounds and the paper made abrasive sounds. Fourthly, she intentionally tried to do a variety of things with each object, exploring their sonic possibilities-e.g. rubbing the mic with the fork, scraping the mic with the fork, moving the fork horizontally along the mic, moving the fork vertically along the mic, tapping the fork on the mic. All I'm trying to say is, the sounds were very good :)-of unprecedented quality. If this video's diverse soundscape and detail-oriented approach are any indication of her future content, then I can't wait for what's to come. It'll be interesting to see how she tries to marry her newfound techniques with her naturally amiable personality we all love and enjoy.
