I’ve just watched this all the way through and really enjoyed it. I’ve got the same mower which starts every time . I fully cleaned it and painted the deck on mine with hammeright about 2 years ago but now the holes are starting to appear 😢. I think I’ll give it a full strip after watching this 👍👍👍

Excellent job I was just about to look for a new deck for mine but after watching your video I will restore the deck myself with the help of a mate who has a mig welder.

Really good video, my deck sadly is badly perforated and I wouldn’t have the fabrication skills you have to save it. I’ve bought a replacement deck and your steps will be a great help to move all the bits across to it. Many thx

Wonder if it would be easier to shape the metal patches to the top of the deck, then place them underneath. 😮 10:59

How long did this restoration take, & how much did it cost ..?
@TurnersWorkshop976 ай бұрын
Im not sure exactly as the recording always takes a long time. But cost around £30-40 for paint and materials.

My Izzy has just bent its crank after it hit a phone line cover set into the lawn. New crank and all the bits to change it plus the time needed means I'll fling this one in the dump and buy a whole new machine.

Ahh that’s a shame mate. If the decks in good condition you could just buy a replacement second hand engine. They’re usually quite easy to come by as the engines typically outlast the decks 👍🏼

@@TurnersWorkshop97 looks great i just used a wire brush attachment for a few patches on mine then kurust a couple of times and spray. I didn't take it all apart. Too much effort lol. I prefer the composite type honda decks

If it’s the crankshaft broken it will be quite a lot of labour to repair it. Might be easier to get a second hand engine as there are many around. The decks rot way before the engines fail usually so you should be able to pick an engine up relatively cheap 😊
