From the way you describe Dr-pepper as a cherry cola type of soda. It sounds to me you might really like Pibb Xtra if you can find it. It's basically just like Dr-pepper but it has more of a focus on the cherry flavor.

Dr. Pepper is a strange one, orginally sold as medicine before becoming just a Soft drink, It has 23 flavours mixed together in it, so it's no susprise peoples idea of how it tastes, is always so different. Myself personally, I've always tasted a sort of liquorice thats bitter, whereas Cherry coke is liquorice which is sweeter.

Earlier on in the story when you said Crystal was a “Plain Jane,” the way you described her, gave me the impression that Fred might be suppressing Crystal’s inner diva. Some men don’t like the possibility of their women being attractive to other men. Apparently, in Fred’s case he had a reason. 😬 Still, no one should be stifled from living their truth. I’m glad things worked out for them both. I love happy endings, too. Good story. That chicken looks delicious.😋

Hi Brenda, I had thought the same thing. Maybe after all those years Crystal decided she wanted to live the life of who she really was and not what Fred wanted. Speaking of soft drinks: I don’t know if you could manage to get your hands on a bottle of “Moxie” - it’s sold exclusively in New England region USA - but I’d be interested to hear what you think of it. It’s the most unusual flavored soft drink I’ve ever had - indescribable. People either love it or hate it…there is no in between. I happen to love it; and when my friends from Maine come to visit us, they are always under instruction to bring me a supply.

I have a chicken recipe for you: "Cheesy Chicken". 2 sleeves of Ritz crackers, 2 cups mild shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup parmesan cheese (shake up in gallon ziploc bag) spread part of it as bottom-layer in 9x13 glass pan. The rest will go on top as a covering. Cut-up 4 boneless/skinless chicken filets and dip in melted butter and place all over the bottom layer of crackers/parnesan-mild cheddar cheeses. Sprinkle garlic either garlic salt or powder on the filet pieces and cover all with the remaining cheeses/Ritz crackers. Bake @ 350° for 65-minutes. Enjoy!!
