ASMR Let's Eat: KFC Chicken & Waffles with Red Drink & Soul Food Chat

I try the Kentucky Fried Chicken Chicken & Waffles meal, wash it down with some "red drink" (which in this case is Hawaiian Punch but probably should have been Kool Aid), and spend a few minutes chatting about Soul Food and the different types of southern dishes that I've had.

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's a non-scientific word that an everyday person came up with to describe the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps but much more pleasant and without the uncomfortable chills.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally induce this sensation in the viewer, often referred to as "tingles", but the videos also serve to provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

As someone born and raised in the south, imma just let you know. We eat the chicken FOR the extra crispy skin. Some eat it for the chicken I guess. But if you're eating fried chicken in the south, its for the skin, and the crunchier the better. IMO at least.

First time I had chikn n waffle was in 2005 in Memphis TN. I am from Alabama, but just didn't come across it in my home town. Now, we have several restaurants that offer this as a meal. I like to put the chicken on the waffles and eat them together. Put the syrup on top of the chicken and let it run down into the waffle. My favorite is Hot chicken and waffles. Brings a new level to the combo.

I was born and raised in a small town east of Panama City, FL called Wewahitchka. It’s about as southern as it gets. Tupelo honey is an icon as well as biscuit n gravy, country fried stake, any fried fish, cheese grits, pork cracklin’s, chitlins, butter beans, sweet tater casserole, sweet tea, black coffee, and blackberry cobbler. The list could go on and on but it’s strange watching and hearing this video, only because our culture and atmosphere is so very different. However this defiantly was an awesome video and I cannot wait to go try chicken and waffles.

My grandmother was from the south. She used to make it with boneless chicken or chicken tenders and take a bite of both together. When they’re be a fried piece of chicken with the bone, I think you just cut the chicken and waffle with a knife and fork then take a bite together.
