Olly I truly appreciate that. It means a lot to hear the compliment as well as having your continued support for my channel! Its heartwarming and I am honored to know you are enjoying my historical content especially! It is one of my biggest passions, and I only wish I had a more formal background in History, but I a philosophy guy for a long time! 😂 I'm going to be churning out a ton more history videos this month, though the next video is the Science of ASMR, so will have a more scientific angle (though I'll probably figure out a way to add history as well)! Have a great weekend Olly and truly thank you.

This was tremendous, your commentary/narration provided lots of interesting information and was relaxing as always! It actually took me about 3 tries to get through this because I fell asleep a couple times. Now under normal circumstances that probably wouldn't be a compliment, but seeing as this is ASMR it just means you did your job superbly! Welcome back, Nathan, I'm glad you've returned! 😃🤝

Danny that means so much man. Its been really great getting to know you through the community and having your support is truly awesome. Plus your videos are really great as well. Honestly don’t even get tingles that much any more usually vids are relaxing but the off the cuff nature of your vids/ “script” are great, just enjoying the content and whispers really, so thanks! (P.s I listen out-loud on my phone and this still gave tingles)

Hey there Abe, thats the biggest of compliments. I also love ASMR as a fan too and so I know the feeling you are talking about. I try to be a bit Holden Caufield with my videos and just go off on as many tangents as possible because I feel like the details really can set the scene. I do write out a very detailed script but I usually will read a ton, maybe two weeks minimum of research so that I'm well versed on the subject and able to speak on those things! Your comment really made my day and its so great to hear this as a creator. I have another video coming out tomorrow which will be very similar to this but talking about Southern Africa specifically a map of Zimbabwe. Anyway thanks again Abe and have a really great weekend coming up!

Hey there SomeReading, I truly appreciate that man. I noticed your channel has some very impressive and interesting videos as well. Especially noticed those videos on Stoicism. I'm more of an epicurean but its hard not to appreciate the stoicists and their "command" over certain human qualities! Definitely will be checking out the Meditation of Marcus Aurelius as well. There are only a few history related ASMR channels so its really great to connect more. Most of my stuff is history, maps, and some random stuff once a blue moon. Anyway man, hope you have a really great week and thanks again for the kind words. Looking forward to spending more time watching your stuff as well.

@@NathanASMR thank you heaps! Yea epicureanism is quite interesting, though I have to say I have not read much of it yet :( I hopefully will be able to soon though!! Thank you so much for your amazing words, I hope you enjoy the videos! I definitely am surprised at the quality and research that goes into your videos, am excited to find more!
@NathanASMR4 жыл бұрын
@@SomeReadingsASMR Basically its focus is on enjoying the good life but with some aspects of stoicism. It isn't hedonism but I think it takes away the hard edge of stoicism by giving that focus on the "good life". Thats my one issue with stoics is ultimately it seem like almost a punishing philosophical view of the world. I try to take the values of the stoics and at the end throw a bit of epicurean "good life" to view things in a more appreciative and positive way. Big generalizations but thats sort of how I see it. I spend about 3 days of research per video, which usually includes some preexisting knowledge of the subject! I only wish I had the knowledge of a true professional historian so I could really speak from a place of expertise rather than as a "hobbyist"! Have a great week man, and see you at another premiere soon as well!

Hi there Potato or should I say Potahto?! 🤣 Thank you so so much and welcome! My main focus is history ASMR with a few other things (travel, science, basic triggers, and maps) as well! I'm about to release a video on the science of ASMR very shortly! After that I will gladly take that request and do some medieval history! I am a HUGEEEEEE fan of medieval history and 100% i'll do it this month! The difficulty is medieval times were quite difficult and I dont want to get too deep into the societal issues while trying to help people relax with ASMR. Perhaps a medieval roleplay of a king back then? I've got a couple maps lined up for that time period as well, which also might be a safe route! So glad to welcome you to my channel and thanks for the suggestion! Its comments like these that really keep me excited to make more and more content plus history is my fuel! Please feel free to add more suggestions if you think of any! Have a great day!

33:00 my last name is Bataineh, which is a great tribe currenlty living in north of Jordan and south Syria. I believe that our tribe name(Bataineh) was taken from our historical region (Batanea). Very similar and interesting!!!!

Bilal! That is so awesome. Wow. Do you know any of the history of how that came to be? The history must be absolutely fascinating. Tell me what it is like! Is it a beautiful place?! Honestly I wish I could visit it now and also during this time in 50AD! Thank you so much for the comment and hope to hear from you. I'd love to hear if you ever saw any archaeological stuff out there from this time period. Have a great night!

@@NathanASMR hello, thanks for the nice words. I live in the north Jordan, my great father moved from the syrian part of batanea/auranitis region to the Jordanian part in 1700s, but we still have relatives in the syrian part. Anyway, yes I have visited many archeoligical places like Jerasa, watched the great roman theatres, bella, jordan river where jesus was christed. Also I have visited the ammonite city (Amman the capital of Jordan), there on the citadel you may see the ammonite ancient houses, ammonite king statues. Also in the musuem you see the oldest-in-the-world statues of ain ghazal, which were found in Jordan, saw mesha stele from moabite kingdom. Plannig to visit the black desert where the oldest bread (pita) was found from the natufian culture in the northeastern Jordan. I have visited the nabatean city Petra many times. Visited the yarmuk river and watched the sea of galilee, but can't visit it, since it's occupied by israel. Also I'd love to visit the Syrian part as soon as the unfortunate war finishs there,beside many other places in Jordan. I wish to visit palestine as the political status allows. You're welcome to visit Jordan, am sure you'll like it :)

@@bilalbataineh8367 Thank you so much for the response Bilal. That is so freaking cool. I am so jealous that you are able to see such amazing historical places. I live here in Florida where everything was or will be underwater haha. We do have some historical parts here (1800's) and of course the Native American presence was strong here as well. But we dont have anything like those great buildings and pieces of ancient civilization! You are truly lucky to be able to see those. Petra must have been truly magical. When I go to places like that I try to just imagine the people walking through the streets, the colors, sights, and sounds that must have existed back then. I wish to travel to that region one day very soon. My girlfriend is from Iran, and I have always dreamed of a trip to visit there too, also Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon all sound amazing plus the food looks so delicious too. I hope when things get back to normal with the pandemic I can travel to these places soon. Have a very peaceful weekend and its been a pleasure to chat with you. Now I have thoughts of being in Ancient Damascus when it was a great city linking the Silk Road and Rome. What a magical time.

hi! can you talk about the history of palestine to bring awareness to what’s happening in palestine right now?
@NathanASMR3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'd love to do a video like that. Are you thinking like a video talking about Ancient Palestine or like History going into modern times? I absolutely would love to explore more maps of the area and discuss even more in depth. The history is so complicated and goes back so far I think it would make a really cool video! Thank you so much for this suggestion and I will definitely try to make it happen. I agree its such an important issue. Have a really great evening!

Hi Yousef! I will be doing another map video of the other parts of the middle east! This video was focused more around the history of ancient kingdoms in modern day Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Israel. I plan to do a much larger video talking about the history of Mesopotamia, and also the history of modern day Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, UAE, Qatar, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. There is just so much cool history to talk about, I had to split it into multiple videos! Thank you so much for the suggestion though and I will absolutely be including Kuwait in a future video! Have a great week!

hahaha yeah I am so glad you saw that!!!! IN all honesty I spent an hour searching all records for a ancient city named Korea in the middle east but I think I just got trolled by the map creators probably ahaha. Its possible though that there was a town that sounded like that? I had a lot of trouble finding out so I'm guessing its an error. Hilarious though.

even more strange is that its showing up on that map even though its from a legitimate university so who knows the story on that one! Maybe somebody who watches will know more!

Shhhh, Don't wake up the listeners. Just my 2 cents but, You Shouldn't whisper. Using a Soft voice is okay. But whispering so low that I hear your lip is where I lose interest.
@NathanASMR3 жыл бұрын
All things considered this is one of my earlier videos so I do ask for some understanding about the content creator learning curve in terms of production and on camera presence. I think since this video I've made big improvements. That said, many people like whispering ASMR. I personally enjoy whispering mixed in with soft spoken, which is why I do it that way. A good example of another ASMRtist who does this is LatteASMR. I think you do make a point that maybe I should do "only whispered" or "only soft spoken" videos for people who only like one or the other. To be fair if I had to choose one, I would also choose soft spoken. I think from an artistic standpoint it is important to do a style that matches your own personal tastes because you need to enjoy the art you create to continue to make it. And while I wish you had worded your comment a bit more politely, at the end of the day, I do appreciate your feedback, and I will be sure to keep it in mind for future videos. Have a great weekend.
@NathanASMR3 жыл бұрын
Also the more you remove the lip/mouth sounds the more it sounds like a radio show and "overproduced." I come from a radio background and I would never do this stuff from a production standpoint in a radio broadcast. But in ASMR lo-fi actually does add to the authenticity of the experience for many people, and most importantly I find that mouth sounds add a bit of dynamic that many prefer. I actually think its quite rare to find ASMR channels that edit those sounds out. I can only think of one off the top of my head. Perhaps they are a bit too aggressive in this particular video but anyway I wanted to just throw that out there because I do try to balance the needs of all the listeners of the channel! Thanks for hearing me out and have a good one.

@@3174jason Between you and me the videos I did in the beginning are a bit rough around the edges LOL. I've since upgraded my equipment significantly and a lot of those mouth sounds and rigid camera presence have been improved dramatically. So I dont blame you for pointing it out honestly. And I really appreciate you saying that and also rewording the comment really means a lot. You didn't have to do that but you did, and thats the sign of a good heart. Hope to see you around the channel in the future and I also hope you have a great Sunday and a safe awesome week ahead. Sending peace and love Tomorrow Morning!
