Well done. I'm from the south-west, on Dingle Bay. Ireland is difficult to draw, cos the west coast of the island has been shaped by the south-westerly current. Our prevailing winds are also from the south-west, they come all the way from the Gulf of Mexico meaning we get much milder weather than we should for our latitude (Dublin has similar latitude to Edmonton, Canada.) I like your commitment to saying "Republic". Most people over in Britain say "Southern Ireland" or "The South" which doesn't really work as the most northerly point of the island is in "The South". Also I'm relieved you didn't mention Mrs Brown's Boys as one of your favourite shows!

Most people I’ve heard here in England refer to your country as ‘The Republic of Ireland’. Those that instead opt for the ‘Southern’ prefix are likely uninterested in geography, but have heard of Northern Ireland, and so it would make sense for them to assume the aforementioned constituting its proper name.

Both Scottish and English people migrated to Northern Ireland as part of the plantation of Ulster. They paid them and gave them control of land which they had confiscated off the Irish in order to further anglicise Ireland and make it more Protestant and make the Irish loyal to the king because during this time the Irish has become rebellious and the King wanted to crush this.
