10 years ago we had a McDonald's in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it was banned and closed due to debt for space rent. They had the best locations in town, but they didn't pay rent regularly. And the debt amounted to one million euros. The prices were too high, compared to the price of our traditional meals, which are much healthier than McDonald's. and they did not pay the workers wages regularly and did not give them severance pay.

The one talking about the symbol being highly recognized reminded me of the case you covered on your True Crime Time ASMR channel of Paislee Shultas. The part where she was being driven by the officer and they passed a McDonald’s and she recognized it and said she has not eaten there in such a long time. The officer then turned around and got her a happy meal 🥺

I live in Macedonia and never knew it was banned, I assumed they closed because they weren't making profit. For comparison at a local burger place it will cost you $2 for a pretty good burger meanwhile McD used western prices for their burgers and came smaller and when you take in that most people get paid minimal wage that is $320 right now (was increased like few days ago from $250)

Kazakhstan is pronounced "Kaz-ik-stahn" (with my accent anyway) 🙂 It's interesting how similar, but at the same time different (if that even makes sense haha) McDonald's menus can be around the world. I had black sesame ice cream in Hong Kong, they also had purple sweet potato ice cream, among others

Apart from the Logo being more recognizable by children, if you were to consider that the 2 most populous countries in the world are China and India over the US, and them only having around 2-3% Christian population each, it makes a lot of sense that more people recognize a food chain brand logo than a holy symbol that has pretty much nothing to do with their culture or religion.

Only way you could sue is if they refuse to give a refund. For example if i got undercooked chicken and i brought it up to the front and asked fir another meal or a refund and was denied, I can sue. But sueing for an undercooked burger which is most likely edible? Cmon now smh.
