I have ADHD, and scrolling on various social media websites is so stimulating to me, at a dangerous cost. I'll spend hours upon hours looking at stuff, all interesting to me usually. I get lots of ideas for art, designs, game ideas, fashion, etc. But time flies by so fast and I hate that I'm not actually pursuing the projects I desperately want to start. I'm constantly trying to surround myself with videos or stuff to make myself feel like lonely but its not a healthy way to accept myself. Every day I say "ok today im not going to spend much time on my phone" and i end up blowing it. I'm waiting for a new psychiatrist so I can get different meds to help myself maybe but really I just need to stop and control my impulses.

Trite Lord hang in there! I also have ADHD and I totally know how you feel! It's super difficult, but try not to be too hard on yourself! Sometimes the guilt can be just as derailing as the distractions themselves, but remember it's not your fault that you have ADHD!! I really recommend "Taking Control: the ADHD Podcast" it's super uplifting and it has a lot of great advice about dealing with tech stuff and how to cope with ADHD in general. Best of luck with everything! Idk if you're a believing person but I'll pray for you. :)

+Trite Lord Thank you so much for sharing! Very interesting to read about your experience with ADHD. Can relate a lot to what you say about having a lot of ideas, not pursuing the projects, surrounding myself with inspiring stuff. Even though im inspired at start, it often ends up feeling pointless, see no meaning to go on with the project. Its so strange, because I guess almost every person's projects they put their heart in can be either meaningful or meaningless, just depends on how you look at it yourself. I think we need to be patient and let things take time. eventually time and feelings are ready for what we want to do. but it can sure be a painful process. once again, thanks for sharing your thoughts. im sure it can help others. it helps me. Take care, and be well :)

For forty years it seemed like I was the only person who got ASMR. There was no way to explain it properly to anyone else. KZbin (internet/social media) cured that minor anxiety in me instantly. That's one little example of the transformative nature of the internet.

I've only just begun to watch and listen to your videos but I've been a subscriber since gaslamp asmr recommended you. I've just got to say, going through some similar problems myself with depression, anxiety and social anxiety, I completely understand. I am glad you are getting a lot of encouragement and help through these ramble videos. I've seen a few of your videos and I just know you deserve a good life. You have a good heart, I can tell. Thanks for being open about your difficulties and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we wait eagerly for more of your videos.

And I guess it can be easier to talk to someone you dont know too well / not have known for a very long time ( relatives, partners old friends etc). So thank you so much for listening, and im so glad you enjoy my videos. i have so many videos i would like to share with you at the moment, just be a little bit patient, it can take some time to get them ready, but there will sure be more videos :) be well.

Am gonna have to watch again because I fell asleep just minutes into this. You are an amazing ASMRtist because you are natural. I personally don’t believe social media brings us together but divides us. It depresses us and leads us to believe we are not good enough. I frequently have to have time away from it every few months. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting yourself out here so that we can get our tingles from you. 😚

+Ash Sara Thanks for the compliments! Sounds like a good idea to have time away from it sometimes. The thing that scares me about it is that its so addictive!

Great video. What you say is so true. The best asmr is real life. My first experiences of asmr ( before I knew what it was) were , in the doctors surgery as a child. When the doctor would write out a prescription and it was silent, I would get super intense tingles, that I have never matched by watching videos. That said, your videos always manage to give me tingles. I hope you keep up the great work :)
@ASMRctica6 жыл бұрын
+Dean Loftus I'm so glad to hear that! Thanks for sharing! I've discovered that ASMR could be induced at least partly intentional. If you concentrate - try to observe the surroundings in another way. Change your approach. For example, I'm often feeling anxious and uncomfortable around people. But I can turn that feeling to something good sometimes - starting to focus on just the sounds I hear. Like going into some kind of meditative state. Force myself to not be scared, because there's no reason to it actually. And let myself be able to find ASMR triggers instead of trying to escape. Sometimes it actually works! And I think this kind of "training" can help people (like me) that often feel social anxiety around people. Again thanks for your support - take care :)
@artcarbuncle99596 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply :) This is really interesting to me. I also suffer with some anxiety and I find watching videos like yours to be very helpful in dealing with it, although I had never ( until now ) considered trying to intentionally induce asmr in an anxious social situation. I will definitely be trying this. Thanks again. P.s , can't wait to watch the latest video :)

Thank you so much for this video. Not only was it relaxing to listen to, but it really resonated with me. I would love to go back to a standard mobile phone and wean myself off of social media. You have inspired me to make a change! -x-

I think it was really brave of you to make these videos, especially such personal topics..thank you for doing so, as personally I relate to so much of what you've talked about! Also agree with a lot of what you're saying about social media & technology. The positives of it for me are just this kind of thing..connecting (albeit virtually) with other people who have the same experiences and anxieties as I do, it makes me feel better to know it's not just me who feels that way :-) Thanks so much for sharing!

And this video comes out the same day I've realized how much time I've spent on social media for the past 6 years. These latest videos are very interesting, keep it up.

+Griseus A.S.M.R. Thanks for your comment about the importance of getting out in the sunlight and exercise. It really helped me. Strangely enough, it's so easy to forget these things sometimes.. Yea there are of course a lot of positive things with social media. But it takes some confidence and determination though to use it only as much as you want to. Thats really difficult I think, especially when youre feeling low. Thanks for your support! btw really enjoyed your latest pencil drawing videos, those two with the map. I guess it's important to not forget to try to do things when it feels you're (at least almost) able to do them, - take the opportunity just when it feels a little better. Because, at least for me, it goes up and down all the time - even when it's mostly down. For example - I decided to reply to some comments just now - because I suddenly felt I could :) Take care, hope you have a great day!

One thing that I always do with my smart phone is to keep the phone almost always in silent mode. I don't hear or see phone calls or messages come in but I still check as needed. That to some extent reduces the addictive power of responding to every notification in real time. I also don't have a personal Twitter or Facebook account and almost never care about responses to KZbin comments (I assume 50% of them are probably bots anyhow). So I'm slightly less connected than I could be but also probably less stressed than I would otherwise be.
