Having a sp.atk hindering nature does suck for the main game though. Surf and Ice beam will do less damage and dragon dance and ice punch are egg moves. She would of been luckier with a naughty nature

apparently after you get your 4th gym badge, you can actually head over to the Lake of Rage and capture the shiny red Gyrados before you even tackle the 5th or 6th gyms. just thought I'd share that very unknown nugget of wisdom with you.
