Funfact about that Route to Lake of Rage: You can find Magikarp up to Level 50 while using surf there. Just give it a Rare Candy and you have a overleveled Gyarados Level 51 which can hit like a truck basically😂 Sometimes i use this in my plays

It’s sooo funny that gyarados is level 30. While you can go either direction, going east from ecruteak city is a little more difficult than going west first iirc Edit: so sad to see flaaffy go for a second water type. Togetic isn’t great because you can’t get togekiss until post-game and your eevee will learn psychic moves as an espeon. I’m really glad you’ve been keeping sandy though, sandslash is so cool

fun fact, when I went through the rocket hideout, I was on the exploding pokemon tiles and got a koffing, then voltorb and thought abscently "Imagine if I got a shiny geodude" and then a beautiful golden geodude appeared on my screen and I was like WOOOT and I named him GoldNugget :>

I feel like i should mention that you can’t actually buy the evolution stones in Heart Gold the only way to get them in the johto region are from trainers calling or by winning the bug catching contest
