This is part two of my series on coming back from New York! Part one of US-219 is by far my most watched video on the channel, so who would I be to not continue with the spot the first video leaves off?
Another fun and relaxing trip through rural PA along one of my favorite routes of the whole northeast! The scenery and small towns are always a very welcome sight, much better then the idiots I see on the main interstates!
As always I hope you enjoy and thank you for riding along with me!
Quick list of roadways from today which is far too numerous to list in the video title:
US-219 / Wilcox Rd (Where it merges with PA-321)
PA-255
PA-153
I-80
PA-970 / Shawville Hwy
US-322
PA-53 / N Centre St
Extra fancy algorithm words:
Trucks truck driving trucking flatbed transmission shifting engine sounds diesel engine hum sleeping sights mountains downgrade downhill international lt hauling 10 speed

Thank you! I love knowing that they're enjoyed! A lot of people do! That's why I like making these POV driving videos because there isn't really any of them on KZbin and I'm not sure why. A lot of the trucking industry is kind of mysterious like that for no reason. Maybe age, a lot of them are older and not the most..... Technologically inclined, or socially inclined now that I think about it 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks so much 😁 Sorry I disappear from time to time for longer then I should. Something always comes up and throws me out of whack but I absolutely try my best. Thanks for sticking around! I have plans to expand the content a little but it's mostly getting the confidence to get over that hurdle that's stopping me so no promises 🤣

Also I'm on that route fairly often so if you ever see McElroy #9119 be sure to pump the arm 👍

Interesting idea for a video, I see you still work for McElroy and started with them. So I assume you still like working there.. you could do an informative video confirming or myth-busting the rumors about beginning a trucking career and going straight to flat bed. A lot of people aren’t recommending to start on flat be for whatever reason..? Another subject could be your experience with the company because so many people badmouth McElroy and their training but I tend to see their trucks almost daily so it seems they have plenty of drivers. (I work locally and I’m not a driver) I feel like your channel is the most informative when it comes to McElroy because you are one of the only ones not posting a rant video about how you hated the training or work environment.

Thank you for the comment! This is a really great idea. I've been meaning to do something like this but I've been struggling to find a good starting point and you make some really good suggestions. Check back either this weekend or the next!

The other thing that I'm worried about making videos like that is: So basically I'm 99% certain the company does not know my KZbin channel exists. And I kinda want to keep it that way because I don't want corporate bureaucracy getting in the way of what I say or content that I make you know? That's why I always wanted to do a video of me strapping a trailer down but I don't do it exactly to the T like they do in training and I don't want someone to see the video and criticize me for not doing it "The McElroy way" you know? Which I doubt because this company is EXTREMELY laid back but it's just the prospect of getting in trouble for something like that makes me worried

@@LifeintheHammerLane Super understandable, if you feel it would get your job in jeopardy, definitely don’t do it. A video isn’t worth it. But I am subbed, so I’ll definitely catch the next video posted. Also was considering McElroy myself because they are pretty close to home. Just don’t have the guts to do it yet!

@@sk8hubbard I'll address this in the video but basically the reason people hate McElroy training is because it is less on strictly being informative and more about seeing your work ethic and people who I assume you've seen on KZbin don't understand that. I haven't seen their videos but I saw them in training and they all dropped out. You go train with a flatbed company like Maverick you're gonna be in air conditioning, with an instructor doing hands on exercises. With McElroy you are out (in my case) in the North Carolina sun taking that tarp and folding it, unfolding it, folding it, unfolding it repeat. It's because they want to see how hard you work and if you are motivated. Reminds me of when I was in the Army, you don't do the task as many times as you do cause it necessarily means anything, you do it because you want to show that you want this thing you're reaching for, which in this case is to drive for McElroy. You either do or you don't, in my case I did. I absolutely love this company and the family atmosphere that they promote. I see another McElroy truck and I know who it is, we wave or honk at each other on the highway, at the DC, truck stops, wherever we see each other. You bond with the other drivers cause you always see them in passing. Bigger companies you don't get those luxuries.

@@sk8hubbard besides areas where you would get it in any other company, example you have truck issues and they want you to keep on chugging, I have never EVER felt like just an employee number to this company. I say something and they listen. My fleet manager, in the shop, wherever. I was an absolute massive ball of stress and anxiety in training and they were very helpful and understanding with me because they saw my motivation, and motivation is the #1 thing that this company rewards, and reward me they have and continue to do. When I tell you I am doing WAY better then anyone else that was in my CDL school I 100% mean it

Is your international a good truck? I have heard things about the quality of the truck, it’s between this one and the Mack Anthem
@LifeintheHammerLane
@LifeintheHammerLane Жыл бұрын
Internationals are notorious for poor quality nowadays, but it at least gets the job done (most days) 🤣. I know the company is disappointed in their performance. All the same problems, lots of radiator and other coolant leak issues, knock sensor and DEF issues. We used to use Freightliner Cascadias until (I think) 2015, before my time but they have horrible customer service. We switched to the International Prostar but the Navistar N15 was the absolute downright worst truck engine in history, my first truck was a 2017 Prostar. In 2018 the company swapped over to the LT with the Cummins X15 and it's a good motor at least, sounds real good and has decent power as you can hear here. Then since 2021 they swapped over from 10 speed transmission to 12 speed transmission and that gave it more pulling power.

I know, I'm so sorry for my absence. I've had a lot going on and I'm finally getting on top again so you commented at a good time. I have more videos like these I just have to upload them. On top of it all I needed to completely reset my PC which had my editing software on it. With everything else going on I never got around to reinstalling it. I promise at the very least another driving video this weekend. Thank you for reaching out

I'm still here, I've had a lot going on internally and externally recently and I just fell out of the swing of things I suppose. Last week especially I've been starting to push myself to change it so I'm hoping to. My laptop also got shot too a month or so ago and I haven't been bothered to reinstall Sony Vegas so that's step one. I definitely haven't fallen off a cliff or trashed my truck or anything 🤣 Check back in a couple weeks and we'll see where I'm at. Thank you for asking
