Welcome to the library!! I got my first library card when I was a little kid and always loved the quiet experience of picking books to take home and read. I think books themselves are just super ASMR friendly. I actually was a huge reader as a kid, and although that's since transitioned to a lot of internet content consumption instead.... there are still a few books that I've read recently that were just too awesome not to share. (I used to hide books under my shirt and go to the bathroom in school to read... lol)
So!
This video has a few books that I've been loving recently, including Bubz' amazing guide to happiness :) She recently posted about how a certain KZbinr really helped her out and inspired her -- and I wanted to continue the chain because Bubz is that person for me!

I've been watching her channels since I was in 7th grade! I never have had a big sister -- but Bubz was that amazing, silly, positive, realistic role model for me, and that's something I've always found so cool about the internet. Someone living across the world can have a real impact on you without even knowing it! Just by sharing her life, her talents, and thoughts with her channel, some awkward teen around the world (cough...me) learned a lot about self-confidence and being yourself. So this is just sort of a mini aside that now I'm rambling on... but I think she's amazing and she wrote a fantastic book, and I just wanted to vocalize that! I also still watch every single one of her vlogs ;)

Klespyrian it is worth it. Yes, the story will overwhelm you at first, but be patient, and give it another try. You'll understand more and pick up more with every time that you read it. Its an amazing series that I grew up with. And as goes without saying... books are always better than movies.

I watched Bubz beauty and her vlogs too! Over the years I stopped watching KZbin right after I got married and have a kid of my own. I started watching KZbin again after my son grew up. He is turning 4 and I am expecting a second child. Your asmr videos helped me a lot when I couldn't sleep at night from insomnia (maybe because I'm pregnant, I don't usually get insomnia). You are probably younger than me (definitely younger, lol) but I admire and adore your knowledge on most things in life. Your videos mostly puts me to sleep and listening to your videos made me realized that you are much more wise for your age. I work at a library, and I love the idea that someone would sign up for a card and not immediately ask how many DVDs or blurays they can check out. There's nothing wrong with thses items but add a book in the mix every now and then. I know I sound judgemental, but I just want my patrons to grow as people, and I doubt that visual media can do that alone. A book does something to your soul, and I want that experience for everyone.

Me too! I had this romantic idea while I was studying that working in the library would involve talking to people about the kinds of books that fill up your soul all day. Instead it’s like “please don’t jam that pen into the photocopier” or asking people to please take their hands out of their pants while they’re sitting staring directly across the circulation desk 🙃
