I actually am a library assistant! I do it for kindergarten, first grade, second grade (and sometimes- but rarely- third and fourth too) at my library. Best part of my day. I get so many, SO many hugs and it is so rewarding. They draw me pictures and write that they love me on them and things and I keep every single one and tape them to my bedroom wall. I love reading to them, they take it upon themselves to hop right up on my lap and lean right in for a snuggle and a story. And they have Lego time too, and I love encouraging the creative little things they build, and learning their names as I check out their books. I love this idea for an ASMR video! Thank you so much

@@captaincaspian42 another librarian here! Most people with the title librarian have a master’s degree in library science. You can be a library worker without one, but generally the pay isn’t as good. So I’d tell them to look into what those programs require!

@@captaincaspian42 A Librarian has a Masters degree in Information Studies (the specific name of the degree varies depending on the university). This is a 2-year graduate degree that requires an undergraduate degree for admission. Many programs also require some relevant work experience as a perquisite. It is not uncommon for a Library Technician to return to school to get a Masters so as to be promoted to a better job. A Library Technician has a diploma from a Community College. A prior degree is not required. A Library Assistant (as shown in this video) is an essentially unskilled, entry-level position. It is obtainable with just a HS diploma. Students are often hired for these positions. It is very often someone's first job in the field. Note that my experience is in Canada. There may be subtle differences in other countries.

As somebody who did this work for four years in a small local library (we had a computer system and scanner, but still used old fashioned card pockets and stamps), this rang very true for me, and was immensely comforting in the familiar routine. I've always thought that if I ever made an ASMR video myself, it would be library desk work, like setting somebody up with a library card, or packing up materials for interlibrary loans.

We are library lovers ❤️ I take my kids to the library 2-3 times a week. I’ve been taking them since they were 1 and 2 years old - they’re now 11-10 years old 😊 we just went today to pick up our new library books and since it was cold/rainy I started a fire so we sat in our living room for a good 4 1/2 hours reading and coloring ❤️ I just finished cleaning up the kitchen and saw this new upload!
