Aussie follower here.... The white feather was possibly from a sulphur crested cockatoo.... I am assuming the birds you saw were large white birds, yellow crest, hooked bill (hooked bill being a trait of other birds of the cockatoo family which includes Corellas, Galahs and cockatiels, parakeets like budgies also sport the hooked bill). Hope this helps.
