Mistake in title. Geology is not the right word. You want Geography. Geology is the study of rocks and minerals. You might want to fix the title of your video. Other than that it was a great video. I don't like male asmr but this was great.

Fun fact: Mt Everest is the tallest mountain from sea level but not the tallest mountain on earth. The tallest mountain is Mt Chimborazo is Ecuador. Since the earth is not a perfect sphere but is ever so slightly squished on the poles, everything on the equator is higher the everything else. This makes mount Chimborazo the tallest mountain on earth FROM THE CENTER OF THE EARTH. Everest is tallest FROM SEA LEVEL.
@toad9506 Жыл бұрын
And Mauna Kea is tallest from the base!
@bernardbirmingham54327 ай бұрын
damn so if Mt Everest is taller by 2.8kms Earth is squished like a mofo. How they even measure that shit
@DarkPilot_7 ай бұрын
@@bernardbirmingham5432 so the earth is very slightly squished on the pole. you need to remember that the earth has a diameter of about 12,742km (about 7922miles) so a 5km squish (or even a 30km squish) is really nothing. They say that if you bring the earth down to the size of an 8-ball, it would be the smoothest 8-ball we can ever have/make. Even with all the mountains and ravines and cliffs and cities. :D

While I disagree that there's anything wrong with roleplay videos, I will say I prefer ASMRctica's content to basically any roleplay. In many cultural legends and mythology, the mountains are a symbol of anxiety and great upheaval. In the Zoroastrian religion they believe the evil god, Angra Mainyu, after 3000 years of captivity, struck the earth with such force it caused the Mountains to rise. In Greek mythology it was the Titans, Uranus's first children, who created the mountains. In Chinese mythology there was an argument between two deities whom I can't quite remember which resulted in the creation of the Mountains. In Christianity, God's evil-culling flood created the mountains. Even in C.S. Lewis's Till We Have Faces, the capricious and sacrifice-demanding god was often refereed to as: "The god of the Mountains." This is off topic but your map reminded me of this and you seem like the kind of person to find it interesting. :)
@ASMRctica6 жыл бұрын
+BarneyFromBlack Mesa this offtopic comment is very welcome :) Thank you, that's so interesting. haven't heard most of it before. the myth I've read about is the greek in which the giant (and Titan) Atlas was condemned to hold up the sky on his shoulders at the geographic end of the world, which by the greeks back then was believed to be the Atlantic ocean (wow, didn't realize until now that's why it's called the atlantic..) He became old and so tired that he wished to be turned into stone. fascinating myth i think. But now I can't wait to look up the legends you mentioned here. So once again, Thanks :)
