I love Videos like that. I dont know why but the part of the top of Germany was extra soothing and tingly for me. Maybe because i live in this area and know much by my self. (I live arround Itzehoe 30 min to Hamburg) Generally, I often think about how ASMR works, and such insights on my part help me to understand it a bit. But away from that again a really great video! You didn't mention Hanover actually had the same monarch as the UK and so for a while they had the Union Jack on their flag up until I believe the founding of the North German Confederation. Britain almost owned part of Germany under its crown too :^)
@henryc.11314 жыл бұрын
Maybe because the Monarch of the UK at this time was a german noble, came from Hannover (the Haus von Hannover ruled Britain from 1714 to 1901). And since 1901, the german noble house Haus Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha rules over Great Britain (because the husband of queen Victoria came from this house). During WW1 they changed their name to House Windsor. The husband of Elizabeth II., Prince Philip, comes from the german noble houses Haus Glücksburg (monarchs of Denmark, Norway and until 1974 also of Greece) and the Haus Battenberg

Luxembourg was already in a personal union with the Netherlands before 1839 (since 1815). It was also at least twice as big, because it included the modern province of Luxembourg in Belgium to the west. After 1839, only the eastern part remained in personal union with the Netherlands and remained part of the German Confederation. To compensate the German Confederation for loss of territory (Western Luxembourg), the southeastern Dutch province of Limburg became part of the German Confederation (to the north of Luxembourg, you didn't discuss it).

For some reason I'm seeing you do them in gel pens, marking out the capitals, and maybe saying a few words of interesting trivia about each. Bonus video: do all the US territories, too. Don't worry, some of the states are really easy rectangles and a few territories are even unoccupied. At least maybe do a Japan map, please? Anyway, keep up the best work; you really are an inspiration.
