Man i love runes. They have something mythical around them and they are easy to write on harder surfaces. I myself wrote long texts using 'elder futhark' and no matter how many times i look at runes they look awesome. Now you made this video and im just astonished. I loved the hyrogliphs but runes are the cherry on top. Appreciation and Support from Germany, love your content

I noticed the “k” and “g” switch and the “t” and “d” switch is the same as Japanese, where it uses the same character to say both, but a small marking (tenten) differentiates the two.
@realmothchu
@realmothchu 2 жыл бұрын
its the same in korean too !
@majiokko
@majiokko 2 жыл бұрын
I think this is because k and g both get produced in the same place in the mouth! t and d and s and z too. The only difference is that one is voiced (g, d, z) and the other is unvoiced (k, t, s)
@rds7516
@rds7516 2 жыл бұрын
The only difference between those characters is the voicing. K and G are made the same way, you just use your vocal chords with G. Likewise with T and D, P and B, F and V.

Same in Russian (and most Slavic languages i guess) and Kazakh languages! There are paired voiced and voiceless consonants like "g - k", "d - t", "b - p", etc, which change their sound to being voiced or voiceless depending on their placement in the word, or which letters surround them. It's so cool that despite the differences in the development and the languages themselves, they're so many interesting similarities between them!
