Poor girl. Honestly, she doesn’t realize she’s being toxic because that’s all she’s ever been told by the authority figures in her life. And the people she looks up to are out of the house and presumably manipulative and emotionally abusive if not physically. Amazing job with the character building and layers of this girl. Fam the "I'm just being honest, I'm not mean" will always hit hard I had a friend just like that, we stopped talking just half a year before high school graduation/ finals but even now as a close to graduating A-levels student sometimes I'll do/ not do things and I'll think "what would she say to me if i did this" She toned down her "brutal honesty" as time went on but it was always because I'm "sensitive" so she's "doing it for me", so for the years we were together I was always blaming myself for "not being able to take criticism". So I was really happy back then when she suddenly stopped talking to me one day, but over time the realization that she was also probably my closest friend at the time comes creeping up
