Alright - I've been binge watching your channel tonight. It's been a while since I've gotten this inspired to get out to the forge and make stuff. So happy to see this craft still alive, and also that you decided to share the process! I'm curious how small/thin objects you can work from iron with these methods, would one have to switch to casting at some point, or does it simply become too brittle then?

Great to hear that you enjoy it! In some of my pendant i forge 2 mm round bar so quite thin material. Cast iron is brittle but i do use other metals when i am casting. Such as silver and bronze.

@@lufolkcrafts Thank you for the reply! 2mm sounds thin enough for most things i could think of. :) And as you say, there are other metals out there too! I don't do any crafts sadly, but i hang out with a lot of reenactors so i get to see the leatherworking, sewing, dyeing etc and appreciate their work too! History is best when kept alive for sure.
