I re-listened to the first 20 mins of this video and my recording conditions for that part has much more background hum than the rest of the video. I am not sure if it bothers people. I personally don’t usually mind the “white noise” in an ASMR video but I’m worried this vid is harsh on the ears for people. Few more things: Look forward to part 2 in about 2 weeks (from today, October 29). There will be a playlist so you can watch the whole game continually. I wanted this video to be even longer but my computer was stretched to the limit. The light/dark in this game looks much better in the actual game. It looks beautiful here, but weirdly the recording has more noticeable gradients in the shadows and light but it looked beautiful and smooth in my tv. Footage is still beautiful. EDIT: there are also a handful of framerate stutters in this video that did NOT happen on my TV (I fed this from PS5 to a capture card into OBS and out to a 4k TV). I am not tech literate enough to know why this happened. I play on Quality mode and have had few to zero issues with framerate. Should you buy this game? Yes, unconditionally, whoever you are and this can be your first silent hill game. Best survival horror game of this generation. And thank you for watching! And being here! And waiting for me!

I Don't know why Silent Hill had such an impact on me, but it did. I think it resonates with so many people, even draws them in just like the town. I watched my brother play it when I was 10 or 11. He would tell me to cover my eyes for the really scary parts, but I loved the ambiance, the sound design, the wandering through town. I think I could relate to the gray weather and the fog, but also the loneliness and sadness of it. To this day Nothing calms me or keeps me grounded as much as the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack.

It still remains to be articulated, even though we can all tell it’s a great work of art! I like talking about it because I can pull it apart and analyze it and figure out how it makes meaning for people. For me, the original silent hill got me hooked with the first ten minutes going down the alley… iconic, terrifying intro I hadn’t seen anything like it and haven’t since. And then silent hill 2 just. The whole game. It’s crazy going through that experience and knowing it’s something special without having to be able to describe why

Hahaha I pre-recorded the gameplay. My neighborhood is way too noisy to record in my living room. Yes I would not be able to keep it together if I recorded while playing

I’m new to the silent hill games after hearing a lot of good about them and loving the idea of a town covered in thick fog with monsters in it, but I didn’t expect to love this game as much as I did. The sound design and soundtrack specifically really got me, the iconic music at the start with James looking at himself in the mirror is so perfectly otherworldly and really makes you feel like you’re in a place that you aren’t meant to be

Good to see you! I am so happy knowing people still watch my old videos. I will but I have to figure out a setup for recording with video in my apartment. I live on a noisy street and have a lot of background noise from inside my apartment as well and have only been able to reliably record voiceovers in my bathroom in the middle of the night. But once I figure that out I will be back to it with filmed videos.

So the note “they don’t stink but they look like they should” is a reference I think to him being in a dream or barely conscious state. It’s just another hint that it’s all in James’ head. In dreams we can have sight, some sensations, but actually SMELLING is extremely rare and difficult. I’ve always been a lucid dreamer able to use magic, swords, fly, pull myself out of nightmares to nice dreams but I’ve never as far as I’ve remembered “smelt”.

SILENT HILL 4 SPOILERS 2:32:36 my alltime favorite jumpscare is when you are in the water prison going through the circles of the layout then ultimately being surprised by the twin victims. that genuinely freaked me out to where i had to turn off the ps2 lol.

I remember literally shouting once when first encountering the twin victim. SH4 has some of the best scares. The hauntings in the apartment have always made me so scared and uncomfortable especially the one where the guy in the closet is saying “I’m always watching you”

Visual stutters? I am playing on PS5. I noticed a few of those in the recording but I honestly don’t know because the stutters did not occur on the tv my capture card was outputting to. There also is a difference in the gamma. I did not know this was a thing. Some people have reported consistent frame rate issues but I have had almost none at all on PS5.
