Texan/ 7th Grade Texas History Teacher here. Overall, this was good. However, I'd like to point out a few things when it comes to my state. 1st, even though there are probably a good number of us Texans who like to think of Texas almost as if it's own country to a certain degree, Texas would still never be allowed to leave the U.S. even though it used to be its own country. The civil war kinda settled that issue. As such, no state is allowed to leave the union regardless of former status. 2nd Dallas TX, which happens to be the city I work in, is the 9th largest city in the United States. Also, at least from personal experience we do get a lot of people coming from California here lol I used to have a number of friends/ classmates i met who where from California when i was still in school.
