So if I say Bosnia then that also means Herzegovina?
@CAMDENMCCARTY21Ай бұрын
@@jreacts3652 yes and no lol they are different words. But most people shorten Bosnia and Herzegovina to just Bosnia for the fact it’s easier to say. All in all, Bosnia and Herzegovina used to be two different regions but when the country was formed the two regions molded together and become one. Like how Austria Hungary used to be in WWI. Bosnia never was an independent nation neither was Herzegovina. They were both regions that made up Yugoslavia which was the nation after WWII. It was on June 25, 1991 they split from Yugoslavia (as it started to split until its eventually fall in 1992). Yugoslavia broke up into its six constituent republics: Croatia (seceded in 1991), Slovenia (1991), Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992), Montenegro (2006), and Serbia (2006). Kosovo separated from Serbia in 1999 and declared independence in 2008.
