Yes! The sound of the sunday paper being read (when my brother and I weren't fighting over the 'intellectual pages') was one of my first triggers too. Also loved the sound of my mom or dad sitting silently reading paperbacks. They were always reading.

I am truly addicted to your videos, you have natural movements which makes it even more relaxing. Not trying to be weird but you have the prettiest hands. Thank you again for your videos.

Wow! I thought I was just weird all these years. I am 52 and never knew until today there was anyone else out there who was affected like this. I can recall watching my Grandfather read the paper for hours and never knew why or what it was called. There are certain people on the radio I love to hear talk. I don't have a clue what they are saying I just like the sound of their voice. I thought I had a mild case mental disorder and just learned to hide it well. Thank you

+Brad Howard Nope you aren't mentally flawed, you are AWESOME .. :) LOL yes, I think we have all had your amazement at discovering that others have what we have and there is (although relatively newly coined) a name for it!! I only know of one friend that has it and they told me about the you tube videos about a year and a half ago. I was so happy because (and I am not telling how old I am.... lol) years ago as a kid, I used to try to explain the sensation to people and I got a blank stare and they thought I was a loony. So I stopped talking about it and just enjoyed the sensation......book store, on the el Train, waiting rooms, library, hair stylist... all those places no one was the wiser of what amazing sensations I was feeling while they did their thing. :) And I continue today, some 4 decades and change later still tingly with my existing triggers and still getting a new trigger every now and then, Here is a link to a page about some research, theories, and info that's available .. the first EEG response was measured ... ASMR being a real thing is no longer in question, as some in science believed as well. I personally can't wait until they expand research with the EEG's... but for now, I just still enjoy the feeling and don't worry about others not getting it. .. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions, if I don't know I am sure I can direct you to someone who may,,, Take care!! Tracy

Well, that and violently and aggressively smashing the papers together..so relaxing. 🙄 her demeanor is way too intense for this.
